British & Irish Lions Tour of SA '09
Am going to the Lions vs Lions game tonight, should be interresting.
WTF did Earl Rose do to get selected?? Mystery.
Heinrich Brussow, Zane Kirshner and Stefan Terblance lost out big time.
We are also low on specialised flankers.
Otherwise a good team.

Xerox Lions probably lost due to the absense of Earl Rose.
Sadly, I don't expect my team to do much better this coming Saturday.

Great fightback by the Cheetahs.
A pity that their kicker lost his compass.
I feared another massacre when the Lions were 20-0 up.
They did seem to struggle in the scrums.
/I did hear a rumour that Mr Rose Snr is on friendly terms with Pieter de Villiers.

Hats off to my team!
They played like stalwarts and looked truly dangerous on the front foot.
The scoreboard says we lost, but every player knows that that game belongs to the home side.
Pottie needs a compass, agreed. I hope he bought a few rounds at the clubhouse afterwards to make amends.
The almost-try by Demas also could have sealed it, so the drop kick by Strydom that nearly went through in the final minutes.
The Lions can sigh a relieved sigh to have pulled this through, sadly, the Cheethas only have themselves to blame.
Snorre should re-evalute the Brussow selection, he caused migraines for the Lions side.
I also heard about the "family-ties" between Snorre and the Earl Rose family. It's sickening.
I actually wish that Rose play in the opening game for the Boks, then while we are ahead he should perform one of his patented "caught on the tryline with the ball" routines and cause us to loose the game.

I thought that the Cheetahs were very unlucky to have lost the game, even though the Lions were experimenting, their performance highlighted the fact that their team does not have too much depth.
Earl Rose is not a Springbok and it is an insult to the team.

The reply to that could be that their coach said from the beginning that he wanted every player on the plane to SA on the field at least once before making the final 22 selection VS the Bokke. The Cheetha game forced him to field players out of position or paired up without knowing each other (like their centers this past Saturday) in order to give everybody game-time. Not an excuse, but it played a role. Still, it placed the focus on their depth, or lack of. The Sharks game will reveal alot, when they play a team that almost had a S14 semi-final spot.
Re: British & Irish Lions Tour of SA '09
Well the first test in Durban was good, until PdV made his ridiculous substitutions and almost cost SA the game. Hopefully he doesn't bugger up the next two tests... SA looked really good early on and especially dominated the scrums and lineouts...
Best not criticize him too much though, or I shall be named a racist... Div hints at racism over Ricky
My dad went down to Durban and watched the game which he said had a great vibe, until he was mugged by 3 knife wielding savages who tried to stab him inside the stadium after the game. Luckily he was able to fight them off, so they got nothing, except one of them receiving a swift knee to the groin...

I tell you, that ou is such a mad-cow-diseased character with a speech impediment. What an embaressment. Ricky was not even selected for every game at S14 level due to his form and fitness... he can't even fall back on being injured. He should be dropped from the Boks.ryanrich wrote:Well the first test in Durban was good, until PdV made his ridiculous substitutions and almost cost SA the game. Glad your dad survived it, it could have SO easily gone the other way.

Thanks man, indeed it could've, I'm really glad he's okay.Sojourn wrote:I tell you, that ou is such a mad-cow-diseased character with a speech impediment. What an embaressment. I agree about Ricky, he's overweight, out of form and completely unfit. It's getting ridiculous though that PdV can pick whoever he wants based on BEE requirements, but when those players are criticised you're labelled a racist. We have such better coaches in this country. Frans Ludeke, Heyneke Meyer, Naka Droske, Rassie Erasmus, willy Muir or John Plumtree could all do a much better job of coaching the boks than this moegoe...
Re: British & Irish Lions Tour of SA '09
The coach himself is a BEE installation, no more than a puppet.
Remember the sparks and fireworks when Jake was told who to to include and he just drew a line and said no, you don't tell me how to pick my squad.
Seven vrot bananas and a old two rand note says he picked them due to pressure from the SARVU circus.

Did anyone else have the misfortune of watching the third test on SABC2? I know that South Africans often complain about biased Aussie commentators, but I honestly think that Kobus Wiese and Craig Marais are two of the most biased idiots I have ever heard on sporting commentary.
Re: British & Irish Lions Tour of SA '09
I expect SA commentators to be biased, in fact I demand it. I do not need some ignoramus dissing the team I support.
