Doesn't look bad, but it kinda looks like a Proton Gen2 Sport Coupe or something.

Its producing 140 odd kw from a 2L which isnt bad and they say it will be pretty light....looking forward to seeing a STi version sometime in the near future.
Should be a good drivers car.

im planning to buy this car when it launches sure its not a high performance car like a porsche or any other top of the line sports car, but it provides style to the average man with its current price predicitions. Although it wont have true sports car performance its looks and style and features make it a goo buy with a 2L engine it should be easier on the pocket with today's fuel prices. Least you dont have to fork out R700k for a coupe now. Especially since BMW has changed their market with the new 3 series costing around R500k (with its extras of course that would make it a beemer) there is no good lookng coupe out there with soul that doesnt leave a whole in your pocket (the cerato koup is fantasic alternative but with so little power no idea why the supercharged version is not available in this country, however i looked at the koup it lacks personality and depth and soul for that type of car)

Pity that it's a joint they rolled with Toyota.
The model will be sold under three different brands: Toyota (Toyota 86 in Japan and Australia[1] and Toyota GT-86 in Europe), Subaru (Subaru BRZ) and Scion (Scion FR-S).

That's like winning a prize for being the tallest midget. Toyota's build quality has been terrible for the last couple of years. Expect cheap plastic finishes.

lol toyota japan is completely different from toyota SA due to toyota's regional developement programme. Secondly toyota is using the gt 86 as their flag ship to restart their TRD division. As syko says "what was TRD got to do with the finishes" ?

Just an update on this BTW. I settled for the toyota as from the other thread, because the toyota doesnt have fake plastic side vents and is slightly meaner looking. Also there are only 6 BRZs coming to SA subaru SA is not bringing a lot of them into SA, why? only god knows... i thought companies want to make money but apparently im insane :D

so yeah.... you not going to get any unless you a really VIP with subaru and have some good friends working in subaru

oh yes got this information from another forum from a guy that claims to be a dealer, he seems legit since everything he said about the toyota checked out.
