One of my friends drives a Merc C230 Kompressor, it's got the 6 speed manual box. Sometimes when he shifts to 2nd gear it refuses to go into 2nd. Other times it goes in smoothly, he works for Mercedes and the car has been inspected but even they don't know what's causing it. In the years he had it it doesn't get worse or better, and apparently it has been like this since 2006.

^^ interesting, I have read about problems like this. Over here we have three mercs: 1999 C180 classic, 2001 A160 classic and a 2002 ML 270 CDI(which is automatic). Non of them have this problem, although the A class does make a strange noise whilst you drive(sounds like a worn thrust bearing). But besides that the C-class has almost 300 000 on the clock and the gear box is still fine, It still has the original clutch for crying out loud.

Not as pretty a background as Ryan's, but here's the new wheels :D
It's a 2.2 i-CTDi 5 door, 2008 model (diesel)

I'm still 'learning' how to drive a diesel so as to get at least close to the specc'ed fuel consumption figures.
I must say that having the fuel consumption displayed in real time on the dash has done wonders for my heavy right foot

Technically you only see one :P
There are 5 doors
Honda did a very good job hiding the rear doors- see the black triangle in the rear window lining? That's the rear door handle :)

@GW, nice, that the 540i?

Yup 540i. Speaking of consumption indicator, I have gotten mine down to 10.3 l /100.

I just use simple maths to make me feel better.

Polo vivo 1.4 = 6.2l / 100

I have twice the cylinders, 3 times the cubic capacity, 4 times the power.

But only 1.6 times the fuel consumption. I win! :)

Tribs, a couple of manufacturers have used the same technique, it is rather cool. Most notable are:

Mazda RX7 FD:

Alfa Romeo 156:

OOPS!!! sorry about that Kat.. :) Didn't pay attention to the name, assumed from the brief glimpses of your avatar that it was Tribs :)

lols.... it's cool... :D

but the way that they have made those cars is for me better... you get the function of less wind resistance with the no handles and the functionality of having 5 doors and back seats...

I like those Honda's, but I dislike FWD very much.

And BTW, don't damage your front door handles, they are extremely expensive as the handle is not painted plastic like most cars, it's metalized plastic.

So my new Yaris T3+ 2008 hatch is finally ready, just need to sell my Corsa and then my dad will drive my new car up from CPT. Once its up here I will be doing a sound install. Can't wait.
