Maybe you should change the title of the thread to reflect the actual question you ask...

Bugatti Veyron or a Maserati Quattroporte, or a Ferrari 458 Italia. And a Lotus Esprit V8.

You are all missing the point. If money is not an option you need to get something really special. Not some marver of engineering which goes like stink but can't be driven on a daily basis. Yes Zonda F, Saleen S7, Lambo, Ferrari they are all nice cars but can you live with one, and more to the point is it something which is really special. Well I say no. So my choice has to be something from the history books somewhere around 1954 at which time it cost a mere $11 000. Currently they go for around $800 000 so price really has to be issue.

I stick with the Lotus Esprit V8. It is an everyday use sort of car.

I always wanted this car from school days - an Opel Kadett 2.0 Gsi Superboss in black. Too old car now, cant even find one in decent condition.

oh and if money was no object i would buy a Mclaren F1 Le Mans edition my all time favourite supercar, or a Pagani Zonda Roadster the one that Clarkson drove in the Italian Job. But these are too limited, highly doubt ill get them. My next choice would be a Porche GT2 or a Lamborghini Gallardo Lp 560 - 4 Superleggera.

it just went today - just gotta check if the VW dealers EFT came through or whether he still owes me a cheque but hopefully he did the EFT as soon as i left the dealership - all jokes aside about not being able to afford the GTI - the main reason for the getting rid of it is that im opening a new business and i need a bakkie to do the deliveries - really couldnt afford to keep two vehicles - so im going to stick with a small half tonner (corsa utility or ford bantam or mazda rustler or nissan Np200 etc) - will get that on a lease - so the next vehicle to be leased if the business takes off will probably be a diesel twincab or a chevy SS V8 ute to really do deliveries in style (even if its a bit wasteful of the fuel) :P  ...... oh and i dont reckon whatever i get for now will remain looking like a standard workmanlike commercial vehicle too long - it will get some good looking accessories soon enough to adorn it and make it look a bit sporty etc (hopefully not too over the top but just making it look elegant and sporty but not overtly so  )
Yes Zonda F, Saleen S7, Lambo, Ferrari they are all nice cars but can you live with one
well in comparison to the car you want to chose which has a wallowy ride and is known to have absolutely terrible brakes even though it started the modern supercar trend - right now there is absolutely no way you could compare your choice to one of the modern supercars mentioned - and i reckon ive seen plenty of lambo's and ferraris in the past few days being used as runabouts and they seemed pretty usable on a normal road to me

sure ...... i would be terrified that due to current local road conditions i would lose tyres every time i hit a pothole because the tyres for example on a Lamborghini murcielago go for R12k each but other than that the ride quality and braking etc are all basically first rate compared to the car thats your first choice so the answer to your question is that i could live with the zonda or the lambo but not with the ancient gullwing thats dreadful to drive in all reality
can't be driven on a daily basis
dude - have you owned a modern supercar - most new lambo's and ferraris are beasts when you go around a track but docile and easy to drive on a modern road - and even though i dont own one (yet) i do know people who do own them and drive them everyday - they arent complaining
