it looks nothing like a Aston Martin or Jag...
You have obviously never seen either of them then. The radiator grill is very similar to that of an Aston Martin and the body shape is similar to that of the current Jag XF

But besides this, I think this could be the best Mondeo yet :D . There has never been anything wrong with the Mondeo just that it looked very boring and a bit wrong(some of them had a boot that was too big, a bonnet that was too long....)

Do you think this is a left over design from when Ford owned Jaguar and Aston?

If Ford made a ST version with AWD it would be win. If Ford would be so nice to make a RS version with AWD it would be epic.

I hope this will get people away from the awful Corolla......No wait that is not in the Mondeo's segment is it.

I just cant see the appeal for the Corrolla when there are far better alternatives, like the fantastic new Elantra or even the chev Cruze

The Elantra looks nice as well, the Cruz doesn't draw my attention as much. But I do hear it's not a bad car to drive.

my last car - Mazda Rx8 Hi Power:

Far too thirsty for a 169kw car (16L/100km average, Rotary engine that goes up to 10k rpm yes pleeeeease)

Image

my next car - Subaru WRX Sti:

Way more power and torque than the rx8, way less fuel consumption

What a beast!

That is why I cant understand why anybody would want the catastrophically boring, ugly and badly made corolla....we hired one(1.3L impact) and it was rubbish. Slow, could not go up a hill, uncomfortable, boring, filled with the sort of plastic used to make cheap toys and it was badly equipped. The stereo was awful, not because of the radio itself but because of the speakers which looked as if Toyota had gone into the Durban CBD, walked into one of the discount Chinese shops and bought the cheapest speakers they could lay their hands on

The base model Elantra(the 1.6GLS) costs 192 900. The base model Corolla(the 1.3 impact) costs 184 000. the elantra is not much more but you get a an engine that will actually move the car, far better looks, more features, better build quality......the list goes on. And it is the same with most other Toyota's too

I agree on the build of the Toyota's of late, it's terrible.

Bonus in Hyundai's favour is their warranty, and the way in which they force dealers and panelbeaters to fix cars correctly, and sometimes save cars which would've been written off otherwise.

I dont know where the build quality went, but they better do something about it before they lose customers to Hyundai(and Ford, opel, VW, kia, Honda...). I must say that Hyundai really have turned themselves around, not that long ago all their cars were boring and rather outdated. But now they look interesting, priced well, well equipped, the build quality is good and as you say Hyundai look after their customers

Now don't get me wrong, I love the raging bull, but look at these pics and tell me only Porsche has not changed their design since the 60s:

That's the classic Lambo wedge shape, but those aren't the only cars they ever made. Remember the Miura, Jalpa, LM002?

@ GreyWolf: its just the basic shape that has not changed, many of the other details have. Unlike Porsche whose cars(the 911) has looked pretty much the same in every way.....but I see no problem with that, why change something that is already perfect :)

I have to agree. I'd love to have a '95 Turbo.
