GO HERE FOR THE REVIEW WITH SCREEN SHOTS ETC

Now most of you must be familiar with the last installment of Counter Strike, version 1.6, which was a multiplayer mod of Half-Life, but now with the release of Hal-Life 2 it seems right to make a new Counter Strike, correctly named Counter Strike Source, after the engine that it runs off of, Source.

The game offers great advancements over v1.6. It has all the amazing physics that HL2 offers, cause there's nothing like seeing tin cans and boxes fly after throwing a grenade. One of the better improvements is that smoke grenades actually work now, if you stand right in the middle of it your whole screen greys resulting in a much better looking and working smoke grenade. No new changes in the choice of weapons, except for the riot shield which has been removed, finally. Despite the weapons being named the same they handle completely different and look amazing. The way the guns handle is completely different to v1.6, you will have to learn to play again, like if it was a new game.

The online community is slowly growing, and more and more CS players are changing over, but many still prefer the good 'ole v1.6. One of the great things about CSS is if you buy Half-Life 2 it comes with the package, but one of the dissapointments, which many players will agree with me, is that it is still using the terrible steam system, so those of you who have used it before can expect the long updating times, and sudden pings at 1999.

Pros: Entertaining, Online Community is set up
Cons: STEAM!!!!!
