There is a cat thread because "certain people" (Read puppy and tech guys) did not want to encounter cat pics in the Pic of the day thread.

"Integrity" and "integer" both contain a Latin root meaning "whole; complete." The root sense, then, is that people may be said to be acting with integrity when their beliefs, words, and actions have a sense of unity or wholeness.

So one of my current housemates (future flat mate) has just gotten a kitten. She loves cats but she has grown up with dogs her whole life. I have been lending a hand when it comes to raising the kitten. I had forgotten how small and quick these little things are. If you blink she disappears under a bed or cupboard.

Will post pictures tonight.
What I type has nothing to do with the people that employ me.

A few updates on my cats

Storm, our youngest cat, wasn't really the prettiest when we got her as a kitten, but now at 16 months she turned out to be quite different (main coons are only fully grown after about 4 years) - she's now about 5kg

Here is her sister Penny, who is one year older (nearly to the day)

And here all three, Storm, Penny and Cindy (she's not a main coon) on a coolish December evening

6 Reasons Kittens Suck (Learned While Raising Them)
By Christina H Feb 01, 2011 79,794 views

The Internet is heavily under the influence of the powerful pro-kitten lobby, but I need you to listen to the truth: kittens are terrible and will ruin your life. Once upon a time, these horrible ...

Image

... soulless ...

Image

... disgusting creatures had me duped as well. Like many kittenless couples, we wanted kittens badly. The only drawback (so we thought) was that they'd turn into mean, lazy adult cats someday, and then we'd have to shred them, or however it is you dispose of outdated pets.

My boyfriend found the perfect solution in "kitten fostering." That's when orphaned baby kittens too young to be adopted are raised in a foster home by volunteers until they're old enough to be neutered and put up for permanent adoption. After they're adopted out, the foster family can then foster some new kittens, and you'll never have stupid grown-up cats. "It's like a kitten library!" he said. You just check out fresh kittens, every two months, forever, then give them back when you're done!

So we talked to a rescue organization and came home with Kirk, Picard and Sisko (the fourth would have been named Scott Bakula.)

Same litter, different dads. Yes, cats can do that.

These little angel-faced ******** showed us the reality of raising kittens: unrelenting horror.

That would be my problem too - but there are places here that foster kittens and they need people to go and play with them. When I have time - I will do that.

Well in Dec my one cat, Kiery, died and 3 weeks ago Emma kicked the bucket. Both were old and had had a good life so it was a little sad to see them go but they couldn't ask for more. This leaves Monty, my cat, who is now missing both of them and I've never seen him so needy.

He used to strut his stuff outside all day and if you were lucky he would come in at night, with a rat, and you would get to fuss him.
Now he will come downstairs in the morning and meow and headbutt you constantly until you pay some attention to him.

Poor little guy needs a friend so now I'm blackmailing my parents into getting a kitten for him.

You do need to get him a friend. He is lonely and wants a cat sized creature to play with.

Sorry about your loss. No matter how old they were - the loss is hard.

My neighbour shoots my cat with a BB gun. Would it be illegal if I shot the neighbour in his face with my BB gun so he can feel if he likes it?
He is in his 50s or 60s so I'm not sure what his medical state is. If he drops dead from a heart attack caused by the BB pellet in his face then will that make me culpable of his death?
