Gigabyte 3D Aurora 570 + Watercooling

Post by aussiematt »

Hey all,

I signed up cause Im wanting to start a watercooling setup in an old case I have lying around, the Gigabyte 3D Aurora 570. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience in modding this case and if its at all possible to do a custom loop in a case like this and have it still looking nice?

Thanks Matt

Think if anyone was able to help it would have been DJV. As far as my water cooling goes my cpu is on a corsair H80. The HAF 932 has water cooling in mind but I would rather go with something already set up.

Thanks StarBound,

I already have a Corsair H100 setup in an Antec P280 and I got a Antec Kuhler 920 in a Antec 1200(or something). I'm really looking to do a custom job and was just hoping someone might have some input or some advice on doing it in this case, whether its a job worth doing or that its not a good idea.

Thanks Matt

It can do traditional DIY WC

Personally, I wouldn't bother

I was thinking of removing the hdd cage at the bottom, just have to find someone to put the radiator/s. Will be a touch project but that's what I'm after I guess.

I guess if you have the case kicking around and want a challenge.

Putting the pumps and radiators in the front of the case is something I haven't seen before.
Back in the day the old pump-radiator assemblies produced a bit of heat, so it was always better to have them outside the case. I haven't messed with WC in a while, like StarBound I have an H80 cooler that takes all of the hassle out of liquid cooling so I'm not sure how much they have advanced the DIY cooling setups.

Any excuse to break out the jigsaw!

Thanks I will, and yeah if it's a complete failure I've lost nothing, then I will start with a new case.

Looks like I'm going to be buying this kit and maybe adding another 120mm radiator to it.

I got myself a Dremel 3000 to make a cut out the top of the case to fit the 240mm radiator. Just need to YouTube some more vids on how to do it perfectly.

Thanks Matt
