Finished LED Case Mod

Post by smokinbarrels »

Just finished the LED mod of my case. Still need to get new LED fans. LED's on the bottom and top, and also modded the dvd rw's LED, changed it to blue and put LED's in the dvd rw (thanks DJV). Oh yes, and sleeved my psu's cables. Couldn't sleep from 04h00 this morning, so I started sleeving.

Take them through a hole behind the motherboard. That'll hide them nicely. If there isn't a hole in the case exactly where the cables plug into the motherboard, cut one yourself :)

On that point... It would be awesome if mobo designers makes a mobo with all these connection slots melded to the board on the other side - i.e. everything you have to plug into the board that is a cable, now slots into the rear/underside, resulting in an almost cable-less design.

That would be freaking amazing. I remember Samaya had a fantastic idea a few years ago of doing a mod where you actually remove the connectors from the PSU and physically solder the wires onto the back of the motherboard where the pins are. Amazing idea.

Nope, that never happened. But there's nothing stopping YOU from doing it :)

If I didn't love beautiful cables so much, I'd probably do it, but alas :P
