Where can we get modder's mesh?

Post by LAS3R »

There's no mention of modder's mesh in Samaya's supplier sticky thread. According to most steel/alu suppliers, mesh is the grill that you use on a braai. When you ask for modder's mesh, expect a range of low-brow facial expressions.

So.... where do you guys get your modder's mesh from in SA?

Mesh Cape, but they're all the way down in Durban and expensive, your best bet is to import some from either Performance PC's or MNPCTech

well you can get some nice mesh from Autostyle Motorsports. and if you don't want it from there then you need to import it from PPC

Other than that I have no idea, I too am looking for some nice mesh and I have no intention of buying from Autostyle or importing from PPC.

Yeah, PPC charges like $50 to ship a $29 mesh panel to SA. I might as well manufacture it myself, it'll be cheaper!

Try contacting places like Alert Steel (in PTA). They might not have it but some of their personel might help you with alternate suppliers.

Yeah, Autostyle was a major letdown :( - also went there.
There are some cool places that sell car modding stuff that might have some mesh. I'll be going to a oke close to my place that does custom sound installs for cars. Some of the mesh used are very very similar to that we see on CoolerMaster cases.
Maybe if you ask for Speaker Mesh you might get better help?

Ask for perforated metal fools. That what they actually call it in the metal industry.

I'm gonna ask Phoenix Steel if they can get some, because I want some too.

My friend referred me to this site:
http://www.meshcape.co.za

They have various types of mesh and also a variety of patterns.
Even if their products are quite raw (ie. you'll need work on the mesh to get it working for PC's) it looks to be the closest to "real modders mesh".

And yes W1k1d posted this first - I'm just letting you know what my buddy told me. (And they are expensive)

I'm waiting for a quote from Phoenix steel on a sheet. If I get the price we could work out between all interested parties and split the cost.

Cool thanks.

I'm looking at some really nice mesh now...but it's part of the office lights housing, and I'm sure my boss won't appreciate me taking it :)
