AC Ryan are the best. I love the brand and soon my case will contain many of their products. If they made cases then I'd buy one.

And it might be from Dae's love of the brand that NomadicIT saw the need to supply the brand.
What I type has nothing to do with the people that employ me.

Im sure someone posted somthing about a place that do nuts and bolts in the joburg area... Can not find it for the life of me now...

Anyone know where in Johannesburg I can get a wide variety of nuts / bolts / screws? Looking for some of those wood inserts that they use on office furniture for my side panels...

For those interested, I found a nice Resistor colour band calculator. The link is posted on the first page at the bottom.

Nope. NomadicIT is still very alive. They're just not selling at cost anymore.

I found this supplier yesterday while looking for some very rare components.

http://linitx.com/

They are not the cheapest I have seen but they do have some components that some of the other suppliers in my list do not even stock (Or know what it is). There are some interesting stuff there

Hey guys,

I think I may have made us a contact who might be able to get us quality tubing, as well as barbs, connectors, etc.

Here is the reply I got from them when I made an enquiry into a reducing barb.

Code: Select all

Robin,

On the internet we trade as Pneumatron but the holding co is PRODUCTIVE SOLUTIONS. Yes we can give you the correct fittings, like BOSCH , PARKER .. and so on.

To be honest I usually do not supply to the public because it proves not to be economically viable,
but I like people like you and your friends who endeavors to do new things.

So this is what I can do for you.

I have a new employee that needs some training, So I am giving you his number
and via him I can than assist you and train him. You will have to be patient as he is learning.

Mornay's number is 0761879503. Or 011 826 4340
No 2 Lido Park
Cnr Yaldwin & Jansen Str
Jetpark

NB- The tubing varies considerably in quality, specification and price. You need to specify:
Water Max & min temperature range in tube.
Pressure expected in tube.

Thanks
Markus Myburgh
Hopefully with more people who are willing to help us like this, we can build up a nice community of modders etc.

The tubing bit seems particularly good, esp if they can provide us with decent quality tubing at local prices and without international shipping.

I have found a nice CNC company. The "oom" makes one off parts from any material you want. I asked him if he could make a CPU block (after I explained to him what it is) and he had no problem. I just have to supply the copper. He does: Milling, Drilling, Turning, Patents, prototypes, Maintenance, Die & tool making and project engineering

So his details:

Machining One Off's
Oom Dirk.
012 653 5560
Next to Old Johannesburg road in Hennops park, Theuns street.

Sorry. Don't know anyone in DBN that sells the stuff. Do me a favour though and send me the details of the company you will eventually use. I would like to extend my suppliers list to other cities.
