OpenSUSE telnet

Post by MadFrog »

Hi Guys, first of all, I have googled the problem and all the steps that were given were done.

See... We had a server running opensuse 8 at a client and it packed up during the weekend. on monday we installed a newer one running opensuse 11. Now we have this random and sporadic problem where some terminals just refuse the telnet connection as follows:

linux-efqp:~ # telnet -E -a 192.168.1.1
Trying 192.168.1.1...
Connected to 192.168.1.1.
Escape character is 'off'.
Connection closed by foreign host.
linux-efqp:~ #

One day it telnets with no problem, the next day it flat out refuses.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks :?
