Necro'ing this with a bit of hilarity

The new 3.8-rcl kernel is full of bugs and one of them got old Linus Torvalds so riled up he tore one of his maintainers a brand new one.

Seems a bit over-the-top to me. Is Linus the Steve Jobs of Open-Source?

Decide for yourself (language warning)

Ron2K would probably think that was quite a measured and reserved response...

Linus' response is entirely appropriate. If you screw up, you can expect to be told exactly how you screwed up, in public, sometimes with colourful asides. I've done this myself to several cretins on this forum, and it's an attitude for which I make no apology. You screw up, you get over it and fix your *****, and don't whine at me and expect me to treat you like a porcelain doll because you have a hypersensitive soul and delusions of entitlement.
