Rather Low, I have a 7900gs overclocked and nearly reach 11k

your processor is pretty good and you have double my ram,

besides that you have a 512mb 7900gtx which is like very expensive

7900gs are very similar to 7900gtx. The c2d makes such an enormous difference you wouldn't believe. I get 2k more with my gtx on stock air. And 1 gig of ram.

Nah that score is fine. 3DM05 is CPU bund on AMD platform currently. If you take that GTX and put it in a Core2 system you'd be over the 12K mark.
While the GTX is allot faster than the 7900GS, the difference between C2Dnd A64 is even bigger

Hmmmm.... What was the card that was exactly the same as the gtx except for a slower memory speed? Thought it was the 7900gs?

I had to do quite a big OC to get 12k with a 7900gtx.

Noooo.... I saw a review on the net. Same cooler and everything. Just instead of 1.6ghz on the ram it was like 1.2. Might have been wrong though.

Yep read the review also, and the gs runs at high speeds stably

Coming back to that 7900gtx score. the CPU he is using is a 4800 x2.that is one of the best amd CPUs and it should easily match up to my E6300. although mines is also clocked at 2.6ghz so that could be the difference.

@jPm: Thanks for the comment. 8) I'm OC'ing the CPU on air to 3.2GHZ, 33% over the stock 2.4GHz. Can go 3.5GHz but not stable and only used for a quick benchie. Happy with a "mere" 3.2GHz as I've already corrupted one of my HDD's that was in a RAID array... bye bye data. Haven't got a single disk to bench with that I don't mind corrupting.

Best Suppi is 14.734. Link

/*Edit: Above Suppi score was @ 3.5GHz.

@I34z1k: No, your score is great. Nice little CPU that E6300. And the 8800GTS is superior of course. ;)

/*Edit: Soz, I see your CPU is a E6400 I34z1k. And you've got the 7900GTX. I was v happy with my 7900GTX but my upgrade to 7950GX2 cost a couple hundred bucks, so I went for it.

He can prob get 3.6ghz with timings @ 4-4-4-12 which is BARELY slower, and the sick proccessing speed will make it quite a bit faster.

@I34z1k: Soz, I edited my post when I went back and saw your your score post. I don't see your specs in your sig.

2X 7900GTX SLI on an X2-4800+ gets 8,489.;) in 3dmark06. I get 8,546 ;) <<edited>>

I also have an LCD :P (Dell 19") and play at 1280x1024. But I'll now bump up AA and AF where no 7900GTX can go. ;)

@W1K: Hehe, funny how some P5W DH's hit a wall and others don't. I know jasonhk and CD did way better but I ran the same settings as Jason and no dice. :( /*Edit: I edited my post above with the Suppi score. Was at 3.5GHz. ;)

That's the Difference You will beable to Run your games at much higher resolutions with aa and af on max.

I'm running my 7900gs overclocked on my 19inch widescreen (1440x900) and it runs perfect, but I can't but AA and AF on certain games, I imagine that 7950x2 wud run that resolution perfectly.

BTW has anybody Run Tomb Raider Legend On Next generation? and I mean Smooth Frames

Another thing I would Like to know is what is the differnce btwn the E6300,e6400 and e6600 cpus, they seem to be similar except for clock speeds and upped cache(e6600)

To me all intel has done is Increase the Multiplyer by 1 each time

Is it possible with software to increase the cpU multiplyer? therefore I would have to increase the FSB and RaM as much

Perhaps a Mod can move these off-topics to a new thread?

@jPm: I ran Tomb Raider Legend on Next Gen just fine with my OC'd XFX 7900GT 256MB @ 576/783. It was smooth but I can't quote the FPS I was getting off-hand

The primary difference between the CPU's you listed is the following:

#1 Multiplier
#2 Stock clock speed
#3 L2 cache - the E6600 has 2x2MB L2 cache. ;)

The best software for OC'ing is ClockGen. I think you can only change your multi in the BIOS.
