I agree, that's exactly what I though when I heard it was being released. My new graphics card might not be as bad as some but I haven't even been able to get 3d Mark 2003 to run yet, keeps giving me an error.

I'll download it anyway just to see how bad my score is :D

I'd guess at least a few hundred megs, but no downloads are impossible for dial-up, even if it's just 56k

Hmm... looks like its going to be a while yet.... Futuremark are pulling a "valve" stunt on us, and thus noone knows when the countdown will end. Everytime the counter hits zero. the letter changes. Right now it has spelled out O-W-N and we are currently on N.... :?

Its more like 15000, but yeah you are right. As soon as hardware begins to reach the 15000 mark, futuremark release another benchmarking prog....

Not a chance. My PC has trouble with any 3D game in existence, except possible AoM, so I think if I'm lucky, it'll be -8936 3DMarks.

I got 3847 with 4.9 betas, which actually impressed me - I think it's the Mushkin ram

Crashes running the demo though (but benchmarks fine) so I'm busy downloading the real 4.9's (and beta 4.10's :D) to see if they help.

Btw, for anyone trying to download, the MajorGeeks link seems to be the quickest.

LOL, I am downloading it at a faithful 3.85KB/s....sigh...only 18 hours to go....

Although after hearing that cards like the 9600XT own the 5950 ultras in this test, then it can take its sweet-a$$ time as far as i am concerned. BTW how can they realease such a benchmark... if the benchamrks are so biased towards the ATI's (in terms of the older generation of cards)....

It's not biased towards the ATI cards - it's an accurate reflection of the NV3x shader performance (ie, crap)
