Yup totally stock with Physix enabled. Your CPU score is too high because you enabled Physix......

No worries boet, it's just that apparently running with Physx is not classified as a true reflection of your CPU's performance.

Stuart that rig isn't Stock.
That CPU score in Vantage is more like 4Ghz and not 3.2Ghz,
At 3.6GHz with RAM at 1,600MHz CL7 Dual Channel, my CPu score is just under 10K, so 11K is not stock
Open CPU-Z and the Vantage score at the same time

okie dokie ... i'll do that when i get home tonight. ;)

on a related note, i think that something is seriously wrong with mah windows 7 installation, because the windows experience index is giving my graphics card (HD4890) a score of 2.0 for gaming graphics.

oh, and i keep of having processes shutting down and performing illegal operations.

Thats driver issue try re-install the Cat 9.5WHQL and here's hoping its fixed

Oh yeah, Vantage scores with GPU PhysX are NULL and VOID! :D
Seriously it makes it difficult to compare the numbers objectively...

played around with some settings in the bios to the memory (don't really know much about memory settings and overclocking), but I read somewhere on various threads that my memory timing (?) should be 5-5-5-15 and with everything on auto in the bios it runs at 5-7-7-20 (not sure what that all means). Anyway, set it to 5-5-5-15 / 2T and the 3DMark score did actually improve by a few hundred marks

Reformatted again due to some problems/glitches I was experiencing, but after all had nothing to do with reformatting at all, had the same glitches, but now it seems that they are gone - needed to properly clean all Nvidia display drivers with Driver Sweeper

Anyway, somewhat higher Vantage scores after all the reinstallation and proper driver cleanup

and the best run of all

lol i really don't know how it came up with 0 but anyways

my cpu clocks were fairly unstable it just booted into windows and 3dmark vantage crash once... i wanted to make some alu heat sinks for my gpu memory (since it was reaching temps of 40-50) but the space was tight and didnt have time

enjoy!

(hopes the pic sizes arnt too big... but im sure most people run at a res above 1024 x 7xx

EDIT for some reason gpu-z didnt pick up the overclocks?? ive heard of other people having problems too

Since you asked so nicely, I'll leave imags alone that are 1024 wide, k?

And here the comparison between my previous setup (2 x GTX 280 in SLi), my new setup (ATI5970) and one with the new and the old together (ATI5907 primary card with one GTX280 as secondary PhysX card - wrote about that experience in the Hardware section and it's not really worth the hassle)

Here is the previous setup score (2 x GTX280 in SLi)

Image

And my new setup score (ATI5970)

Image

Quite a bit lower

But now the bigger surprise, the setup with ATI5970 as primary card with a GTX280 as secondary card for Physx

Image

I am absolutely astounded at what difference hardware Physx makes in these scores, nearly 6700 points - incredible

And as someone here mentioned a while ago, scores with hardware PhysX do not really count (?) as there is no true comparison between the Nvidia and ATI cards with Hardware PhysX enabled. Now I can see how. But surely software PhysX is still enabled? Before I installed PhysX with the new card, 3DMark Vantage didn't want to run - it complained about not having PhysX. Anyway, PhysX was installed automatically with Metro 2033 (I didn't have a choice there)

And, as far as gaming is concerned, I am extremely happy with my new card and it seems that it actually does, in general (overall), perform better than my old setup (especially those DX11 games :) )

Nice scores there Gunther!

Here's my latest. No PhysX in these, will do a quick run with PhysX on to see the difference...

Ryanrich

Those are lovely scores

So PhysX does make quite a difference

I think I need to seriously start considering an upgrade as contemplated here :http://forums.pcformat.co.za/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=37671

Plus with a second HD 5970 (or possibly two upgraded cards from these)

But that will take a while still

Thanks! Yeah it makes a huge difference, now if only more games supported it...

I was just reading about the Asus Ares card which is hectic stuff!

Wow, the ASUS Ares looks incredible and promises to be absolutely outrageous

Now just imagine two of those (and I have always liked two cards, first in SLI and now in CrossfireX)

Can only be stunning - but probably will be difficult to match a proper CPU and ram with two of those and the right motherboard

Wonder if my envisaged upgrade will handle two of them
