I did change the fanspeed from 29% to 60% and it seems to help alot with the heat

90c when the fan is set to 29% :-(

needs some aftermarket cooling, But I have made plan in the mean time by pointing two 120mm fans at it and set the fan on it to 60%, it idles around 55 now and loads to around 75 which isnt to bad, still a little too hot for my liking. Maybe I go water cooling :-)

Damn that is hot! The air flow in my case is rather good though so when I get mine I'll just turn that fan speed up as you have.

Mine is idling at 55 and the hottest it has gotten so far is 65. Made auto fan speed settings in rivatuner, @ 55c fan is at 30%, goes up in increments till 65c @ 100% fan speed. But it only goes to 100% fan speed for a few seconds everytime then it drops below 65 again

Damn - the GT should have sufficient stock cooling to not overheat! (If not overclocked - obviously) What brands of 8800GTs you guys got? I was interested in buying the Gainward Bliss edition (from Computersonly - R2800)
