dell vostro 200

Post by reyals »

ok, so a while back i stopped overclocking, gaming and general geekiness, thus I've fallen behind a lot.

so my pc:

dell vostro motherboard (based on foxconn g33)
core2duo e8500 running stock at 3.15ghz
8gb ddr800
nvidia 9600gt
2 350wpsu's (yes, i have two because i can't afford a big one)

I'm getting a new deepcool iceedge400 next week, as well as some hdd coolers and northbridge cooling.

now, bios is locked as it was a dell machine. is there any way i can overcome this and start o'cing?

Well, you can do some hard mods to the thing.

You should be able to use Memset to gain some control over memory timings...

another link for 775 socket cpu's regarding pin modding:

apparently it pushes an e8500 from 3.15 to 3.8 by increasing the fsb, will try tonight.

ok, two questions:
firstly, by increaing the fsb, will this increase the rams' speed?

and second, what influence will this kind of overclocking(pin mods) have on intel speedstep?
