Which would be a better heatsink material, Aluminum or Copper? As of late i see too many copper coolers...makes me wonder why.

AFAIK copper is better, but more expensive. Here's a table http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/therm ... d_858.html

BTW nice necro.

Anybody out there using the Corsair H50/60/70?? I'm looking at replacing my stock cooler and would like some feedback from the Corsair brigade.

Any other suggestions for an aftermarket cooler?

Ok, but still doesn't change the fact that the Noctua coolers are the size of small countries.

Need to make a decision before this afternoon...

My NH-D14 is the best cooler I have ever had. Never looked back.

Noctua is the top dog in air cooling. Period. But if you're lookin for somethingthat still cools well,I'd suggest zalman cnps 10 x extreme, coolermaster V6GT. Iv had first hand experience with both of these and they rock! And PS they're not awfully smaller than the noctua! You're lookin for maximum surface area!

And if you're looking at going with closed loop watercooling then I'd suggest the h70. It'll out perform any air cooler in its sleep. I can't remember exact numbers but you're looking at under 60 degrees with cpu under load.

I stand to be corrected,I'm sure someone on here has something to say about their hydro series cooler? And perhaps correct me if I was wrong?

I've read the reviews on the Noctua, Zalman and CM air coolers and they all look brilliant, but they still have one huge flaw and that is size. The H70 for me is also to big and a bit pricey when you compare its cooling ability to top end air coolers.

I'm leaning more towards the Corsair H60 or the Antec Kuhler 620, neither of which are overly bulky. I want to get a decent cooler to go with the i5-2500K.

Would still like to hear from people with first hand experience on the Corsair and Antec coolers.

See the guys at Corsair are releasing some new coolers under the Hydro Series banner...

The Corsair H80, which looks like an updated version of the H70;

And the Corsair H100, sporting a huge 240mm radiator.

Think I might hold on to my stock cooler for a while to see how these units will perform, both cooling and pricing wise.

Seems the reviews on these new units from Corsair are rather hard to find, here is one so far comparing the H80 with the Antec Kuhler 920. The results do look promising...

I own a H70 and love it BUT I changed the two fans to two after market 70cfm fans. The stock fans whined like a turbojet.

Apparently the H80 is slightly better by one or two degrees, and I suspect the H100 would be a bigger improvement though its a thin 240mm radiator, vs the thick 120mm radiator on the H70. What appealed to me was the small fit - fits in a variety of cases in different ways. Bit pricey but I never regretted buying it.

Next though, I would be keen to try the XSPC Rasa 240 kit..

Another review on the Corsair H80:

And finally a review on the Corsair H100!!

I do wish that the review sites would start using the new SB systems for their testing though.
