Just a suggestion - a helpful one. Buy your tickets online and get there early. Queues are hectic! Wear comfortable shoes and leave your claustrophobia at home. And the taller you can be on the day - the better (unless you like the view of people's chests).
Bring your camera - lots of sexy (and not so sexy) people dressed up for the Cosplay.
There are ATMs but the queues are long - bring your cash with you.

I almost made a surprise appearance this year.
While we were having lunch last Saturday, my brother offered to send me. He thought the event took place in December.
I don't like doing things at the last minute though, and would feel rotten about him paying a premium for airoplane tickets, road transport, accommodation, etc.
Also would rather not look at shiny hardware at the moment.

This year if I go it will be Sunday afternoon. After the meet i spent maybe half an hour trying to look at things before I went mad and ran for the hills
Saturday is too busy, but seems like last year was worse than usual. Hopefully with compufail out of the picture it will be better

No it wasn't. We had a totally fantastic time - kids and I. Seems the organisers learnt from last year and moved the stage back to where is used to be - and opened up a lot more floor space for us.
Played so many of the games - but not great with consoles so I often sucked (Battlefield 4). But it was awesome!
Awesome new tech but not much of it. Was a bit disappointed that there weren't more cases - but that is only because I am looking for one. They were either black or white - but there were really nice ones. Quite a few deals to be had if you knew where to look. Spent a small fortune but I do not regret my purchases
