SA Android users get flat-rate data

Post by Stuart »

Users with Android-powered smartphones will soon have access to flat-rate data packages that have contributed to the success of BlackBerry smartphones.
But with some important caveats, before you get too excited!

How exactly is a carrier limited data bundle an Android flaw?
I'm pretty sure an iDevice can chew through as much data as any droid :\

Nope, it doesn't come close. My 2 Android phones used to use an absurd amount of data, even through the night doing absolutely nothing from my side. Not a single app on my iPhone has ever gone rogue and done that.

Out of interest, what is your average data usage per month on the iPhone?

In all my Android devices I have never experienced that issue. :? I really dont understand how so people setup their syncing...

Unlimited data sounds nice but meh wireless at work & home means I dont really use my data that much.

I've never directly compared my iPhone data usage to my Android device usage, but I do know that, without WiFi, I chew 250MB of data on my iPhone by around the 12th of the month.

Be glad you had a data bundle, or you would have gotten a whopper of phone bill.
