Project Glass - 6:03 PM - Public
We think technology should work for you—to be there when you need it and get out of your way when you don’t.

A group of us from Google[x] started Project Glass to build this kind of technology, one that helps you explore and share your world, putting you back in the moment. We’re sharing this information now because we want to start a conversation and learn from your valuable input. So we took a few design photos to show what this technology could look like and created a video to demonstrate what it might enable you to do.

Please follow along as we share some of our ideas and stories. We’d love to hear yours, too. What would you like to see from Project Glass?

I so want this already. Looks awesome!

/Here's hoping Google patent it so that Apple cant sue them out of the market...

//bet you rusty see's this as the "Devils" work :P.

Wow - imagine being online all day - no matter what you are doing!

One would have to make sure this is hackerproof or there could be some really interesting videos making the rounds

augmented reality...

old news and inevitable...

an added bonus is that the mouth-breathers will be able to run themselves into fountains and off escalators that much quicker...

Mmmm watched Mission Impossible yesterday and they used this kinda glass on the windshield for the GPS. Just fancier. Was really awesome. Must say - I loved the cars in that movie.

I need to be able to use this with my prescription glasses. Or what would be cool in a geeky way is if I could replace my glasses with two of these units with auto-focus camera's helping me to see objects far away.

If you start coding now you could make lots of money when these things launch. :P

Piece of a comment I saw regarding these:

@Hman I wanted to keep the suspense ;). But thanks for the fill in was a rush job on my end :).

@rusty I could picture your wife "cheating" the system to get unlimited stab points and a unlimited timer on where she can stab :P.

Seriously I think this is a worthwhile project and if they can get it in before Apple even better ;).

MOOD - Thirsty

A surprising amount of modern pseudoscience is coming out of the environmental sector. Perhaps it should not be so surprising given that environmentalism is political rather than scientific.

Looks like we're starting to get a little insight into Google's Project Glass testing process. Seems like the augmented reality glasses need to make their way onto every head on the Google staff, before the company feels confident moving ahead with them. First we caught sight of co-founder Sergey Brin, then it was Sebastian Thrun of Project X fame, and now social exec Vic Gundotra is getting a crack. He looks reasonably happy, so that's probably a good sign, right?

Update: Looks like Google employee Sebastian Thrun actually tried one on... and got a photo of what it looks like from the inside. Head on the past the break for a glimpse.

How would the average person benefit from this? It looks like a silly toy.
