Then you have a problem :P. Keep in mind I am constantly updating apps, system files and a few other things over my WiFi so its not a true reflection of my usage ;).

It open the world up ;). You can now flash custom ROM's (like Cynogen CM7 or if you are brave CM9), install apps that you normally could not (Like Droidwall), change the theme of the phone and quite a few other things. Read up on the XDA forum to see what you can do ;).

So i flashed my phone, im using the DarkyRom HD Resurrection Edition. Its seems pretty good and everything is working as it should, Im keen to try ICS but i think ill rather wait til theres a fully stable version available. Thank you VERY much Anakha56 for helping me through the whole process and going through all the trouble you went through to help me out. I really appreciate it!!!

No worries ;). And yes I would wait until March when the stable release should be coming out for ICS. It still has a few bugs that need to be sorted out...

Hey guys I was wondering if an SD card will slow my phone down like it slows down other phones? I'll basically be using the sd card for storage of media. All the HD videos and pictures take up a lot of space. So I'm not bothered if it takes a while to load all the info when I open the sd card but I can't have it slowing down the overall performance. I'm looking at 16gb or so. And does anyone know if I can record the videos straight to my sd card?

Thanx again

No idea, as far as I know since that card you are replacing is the external SD card it should not have that much of an impact. From what I remember of the HTC Desire is that no matter the speed of the card (Class 2-10) it wont affect the performance. The reason for this is the internal connector was rated at a specified speed so it will never go pass that. If our phones have that problem I dont know but I do need a bigger card and was looking at a Class 6 6GB if I can find one...

I will go look around for one tomorrow, and I also want a USB to mini USB converter for my phone. And if the overall performance suffers i suppose i can always keep in my phones rubber case thing, and put it in when I want to access all my stored videos etc

Let me know how it works, am keen to see the results. BTW I have seen Incredible Connection stock a lot of our phones goodies. And they were decently priced... :?

I went to Incredible Corruption, ahem I mean Connection and I got helped out by a guy that looks like Leonard from Big Bang Theory. I asked for a mini usb to usb female converter to plug flash drives into my phone, so he gives me an HDTV converter so I rather just had a look myself. They didnt have much to look at, I looked at the price of a Sandisk 16GB sd card, it was R369 I think, Im sure I'll find it cheaper elsewhere. a few little accessories here and there but nothing exciting. PC Zone claim they have the converter Im looking for but its out of stock, for R29. So I'll probably end up getting the SD card from them too and I'll let you know what I find Anakha

I did and it works!

What I did was take one of my phone's USB cables (cable had a break somewhere), cut the cable in two (removed a long piece to get rid of the break). Then I joined the wires in such a way that I had points I could solder elsewhere, then I ripped a USB -> P/S2 converter open and soldered the points of the wires to it.

Tested my flash drive and my Logitech Anywhere MX on it. When I use the mouse it exposes the os' mouse cursor automatically.

Samsung Galaxy S2

Post by TheAlteredState »

If anyone wants to get rid of a Galaxy S2, let me know!! :)

Also, has ZA updated it's firmware yet? Still on 2.3.4? Or will I have to whack on the Dutch (seems to be updated the quickest) firmware to get any real updates on the official firmwares?

I don't think you will find many willing to part with their S2s. This is the happiest I have ever been with a phone and it isn't even rooted yet.

You should check out members of the CUD club on Carbonite. There are frequently S2 sales over there.
