Borderlands 2 with physx enabled any time it starts using it the game slows down tremendously on windows 8.
Far Cry 3 the game just runs noticeably slower.
Non of my GFWL games wanted to work eg batman could not save, Age of Empire Online didn't even want to run.
All my games run just fine, including GFWL titles like Arkham Asylum, Bioshock 2 and DiRT3. I don't know what happened to your install but everything's running perfectly well here. I don't have Physx enabled because I'm running an HD6870, but I'm pretty sure what you have is a combination of a software and hardware issue. Where to start looking is anyone's guess though. If Windows 7 runs just fine, then its probably driver-related.

I know borderlands 2 takes a knock, otherwise everything is pretty much equal.

And i want to see how much of a knock it takes if i use a 560ti as a physx card.

While Net Applications gives an idea about how Windows 8 is doing from a more general PC audience, the tens of millions of Steam users show how the operating system is being accepted by the more hardcore PC gaming crowd. Today, the latest Steam hardware survey results are in for the month of February 2013 and it shows that Windows 8 is now ahead of Windows XP among its user base.

so... being unable to purchase a legacy OS whilst being forced to purchase new kit infected with windows 8 is somehow noteworthy or something...

Windows XP does not have DX11. Would like to see how much of XP went to 7 and 8.
