can any one tell me :
does counterstrike 1.5 use the halflife1 engine like team fortress.
do you need a specific patch to the game before you can install cs

is counterstrike 1.5 is playable in lan
are there bots - if not were can i get some
is condition zero a standalone or an upgrade ?????

i found out that cs does in fact use the halflife 1 engine due to the fact that its a mod.

still dont know if you can lan the downloadable version of cs and i found bots on fileplanet

this has just been stated for the record by your friedly nOOb

if im not mistaken its the same engine.... its just been vamped up to look good. Cs: conidition zero uses a different engine and then finally Cs: source uses, well, the source engine...

CS:1.5 is a retail update for CS v1.1 retail you can download the full client for Cs v1.5 but its about 120Mb so its not that easy. it doesnt have bots, you'll have to download them.... Condition zero on the other hand has bots aready and is a standalone game....

yes cs 1.5 is using the old valve engine as you have found out.

where r u d/l your version of cs? cause cs is meant for lans and internet play.

cs source is counter strike written in valve's new graphics engine called source, so it looks better and eliminates some of the qwerky bugs in the old cs.

I fyou buy the halflife 2 collectors edition you get cs source on dvd or you can buy the normal hlaflife 2 and download it via steam ...

where are the good old days of poping the hl cd into the 24X cd drive using 3333333333333333 as a serial and youre off? 7 day school holiday Lan carnage ?

not realy planning on buying halflife - the steam thing put me off completely - rather take a crack at doom3 and farcry

just needed something to play for 2nite lan. does cs1.5 d\l need steam to install? hope not.

1. Yes 1.5 uses the HL1 engine
2. No patch needed to play the game
3. 1.5 can be played at a LAN
4. Yes bots are available for 1.5 and it's called "podbot"

Why not get 1.6 version6(for LAN)
and 1.6Steam for online

But 1.6 Version 6 is great for playing at home and at a lan

but i would like to reind some of you the value have released a version of CS 1.5 with steam.... you must be very careful. i have CS source and Cs 1.6 i havent been able to play source because i cant be bothered to update it using steam... i've used cs 1.6 in may a lan and it runs great. its hard to get bots for it but i finally found some (realbots) and its running like clock work.... im loving it....

downloaded 1.5 , installed it with podbot , was blown away by bots ai for bout 1.30 min then got realy bored . soooooooooooooooooooo

i went out and bout cs :cz and im pretty happy the bots are pretty smart.

off topic anyone know of a cool halflife 1 mod - one with tripmines and evil strategic play?
