I actually considered buying it, until i saw the price.
Games like Path of Exile keeps me busy regarding RPG games, i find it a much better game than D3 ever was.

I'm out. I wont be paying full price for a crippled game, that always online requirement is the Angel of Death as far as I am concerned. I will wait a couple of years for it to reach "special" price and even then I will still feel ripped off.

Luckily I scored it using my eBucks for 389 :)

Love all the changes :) makes it feel like the game it should have been from day one. I shall abscond from playing until I have the actual expansion installed however...

Collectors Edition holder here currently leaning towards not buying the expansion...

You recon its worth re-installing for a replay on patch 2.0?

As mentioned there are major changes to the game.

Loot quality drops are very noticeable.

Difficulty has been changed. There is no normal, nightmare, hell, inferno. You can set it as normal, hard, and other difficulties at any time for better loot,xp,gold etc. Monters now lvl with your characters lvl meaning you might always face a 1:1 difficulty.

Paragon levels carry over to all characters now and it seems you can level indefinite now. Example, I played from the start of tristram to just after rescuing Cain and I got 4-5 bars of paragon xp. Logged in with my lvl44 monk and he got 8 paragon level bonus.

I do recon it is worth checking it out at the least. The changes are strangely welcomed. It feels like a different game. Verdict still out on if it is worth it though.

Just another heads up, the patch is about 8gb big, guessing its the expansion data.

:-1 legendary drop every 2 hours on average or...
:-guaranteed legendary from act bosses on first kill
:-levelled drops, and critters level with you so XP gain is almost constant...
:-new gem, diamond, offers resist boost

i would concur..almost as it should have been on release except for one or 2 niggles... (crafting recipes asking for forgotten souls - which are not available in vanilla  )

Does it renew my faith in Diablo? ...no. But it does feel overall like a product it should have been since day 1. The monster level scaling is still interesting. Would like to see what happens when a lvl60 and lvl1 meet up.

The small things that captured my eye was the new dmg test font formats and the traps the world has that now instantly kills enemies.

I will also say that I am even more curious with regards to the PS4 version now.

I am REALLY keen to get the PS4 version...however, I will have to wait for it to be released...not to mention I would have to purchase D3 and the expansion, which would make it a hefty price just to own on the PS4, seeing as I already own it on PC and basically getting the expansion for free...

I did not have an update to download since I was playing the Public Test Realm :D. I am loving the new update except for the high lag... I got a legendary one handed club that does insane damage on the first monster I killed :D.

I can see this getting nerfed soon though. Part of the charm was getting surprised by a good drop. Rare is the new magical. It doesn't really hold much value.

I think you missed a couple of patches
A years worth at least...

Only got to play with the settings and check out the game changes last night - wasn't keen to actually start playing as that would mean no sleep.

I may spend the entire weekend revisiting Diablo 3 and overwriting some meh memories with better ones... Monday is a holiday down under :D

Actually, you would be surprised. Yellows are quite common, but they feed your character in different ways. Just ask rusty about his legendary bracers that he picked up 3 times. They each had the same name but offered different stats in certain areas. Also an area I am having fun with is picking up items and destroying them to get their parts and then making my own items in with the Blacksmith. I wasted so much parts trying to get a useable set of gloves, but when I did get them they were tops. And I have to add ... Green items and recipes do exist! They actually drop now, granted they are very rare but they do drop. Back to your comment about rare being the new magical I never noticed it when I started a new char but as I leveled up then I started seeing blue less and yellow more.

This new patch has made things quite rewarding and I have wasted a lot of hours in the PTR realm and I more than certain that I will waste a lot more now.

Oh and I caved...

I actually gained 3 paragon levels during the 45min I played after posting. The lag is a major issue. But I am enjoying the game for the first time since the beta on PC. Monsters leveling the same as you has a strange effect. I was a bit worried that it would mean the end of actual effort but it shifts the focus from leveling to just playing the game.

quite... act2 keywarden, (spinning dude with project reflect), took down a level 60 wiz in one hit - on normal difficulty... with her own orbs

given it was HC, i was "pleasantly surprised"....

Probably some silly high DPS low HP build...

Loot drops are insane now.. 60% of drops are yellow and I already have one legendary and thats in 2 hours of playing.
All the gold drops have also improved my build by about 15% across the board
