Huawei E303 on Opensuse 13.1

Post by Coetzee »

Hi

I am still a Linux newbie. I have loaded Opensuse 13.1 and apparently the 3G modems are supposed to be picked up automatically although my Huawei E303 is not being picked up. I am using Gnome and I have done the broadband network setup but I don't know what else to do to get it started.

Can someone please assist?

Thanks

<hoping it's a simple solve>
with the unit not plugged in, open a console session.

plug the unit in and paste results back here for

Code: Select all

1) dmesg|tail
2) lsusb
3) ifconfig -a
(in separate blocks).

have you confirmed the unit isn't visible in the network manager?

does the unit have an active pin lock?

do you, per chance, have the latest ModemManager installed?
