SONY SRS D5 speakers

Post by StarPhoenix »

Hi

CUD attack. I have been looking at a set of SONY SRS D5 speakers that are on special, and am wondering how they compare to the DiVoom XForce 2.1 speakers I currently have connected to my home computer in terms of clarity of sound. RMS need not be overpowering, as I share a house with a number of strangers.

Thank you

Difficult to say SP, Sony doesn't list all the specs of that system. I did look at the Divoom ones and they seem pretty decent.

i dont think that the Sony's would actually qualify as a "compulsive upgrade"

maybe if you were suffering from a different disorder for example a "compulsive sidegrade .... to replace an item that did not need upgrading .... disorder" then they would be a fine purchase

i would save the money and then save a bit more and then purchase a decent hi-fi stereo amplifier and a pair of hi-fi bookshelf speakers and that would easily become a decent upgrade ..... in fact if you know where to look and purchase decent second hand kit you could easily land up with really decent hi fidelity kit that many would be proud to have as their main systems for the price of high end computer speakers

@Naughty:

How much do you know about Wharfdale monitor speakers - more specifically the Crystal 2-10 or Diamond 10.1?
[They are on special at Takealot]

Does I need a degree in electrical engineering [so to speak] to hook them up my Xonar D2/PM?

Thanks
