I had an AMD 6970 and traded it for a GTX 570. I installed the GTX 570 and everything is connected as should. I powered on my PC and it booted into windows no problem. I got the AMD driver error, for the missing 6970, and an msi error for no supported hardware found and a missing Direct X 9 error (or something like it). I uninstalled the AMD drivers, restarted as needed and got one less error, as expected.
I then proceeded to install the NVIDIA driver that was supplied with card, all went well, restarted again as required but this time the screen locked at the black windows screen before the login/password screen. I could hear the sound, although it was very bad quality. I proceeded to restart in safemode, uninstall NVIDIA drivers. Restarted again to see if I could get into windows this time, and heaven behold I did! I went to device management and there it was a genetic vga card, as expected. I then installed the newest drivers on the net and the same thing happened after restarting, froze at black screen and heard only audio. What do I do next, I don’t want to format unless it’s my last option.
Thanx

Re: GTX 570 help
I suggest doing things in the following order:
1 - uninstall AMD drivers
2 - uninstall nvidia drivers
3 - install intel chipset drivers
4 - install nvidia drivers.
It is 285.xx for nvidia right? The one from october last year? Should fix your issue. Else I can only think that something is wrong with the card.

Re: GTX 570 help
I have read that uninstalling MSI afterburner sould fix it as well as it is still trying to look for and overclock my old 6970...
If uninstalling that doesnt fix it i will be formating and reinstalling win7 not looking to forward to that...
The card worked fine with the guy i traded it with

GTX 570 help
Uninstall everything related to the previous card. Drivers, programs, patches, alles. Then restart, install the latest nvidia drivers from their website and enjoy!
