Speakers

Hello All

I really want to buy new speakers mainly for music, movies and games... Not really sure if I am looking for surround sound or just the normal bass with 2 speakers, probably the latter. I am looking to spend about 1 k but I want some decent speakers, any advice on where to buy or what speakers to get?

I know logitech has some kind of 2.1 THX sound system but if I am correct they go for around R2k. Not sure at what the Z-5500s are standing at now but they were and still are the best speakers you can get and last price, before the rand caved, was R3800.

Yeah, Z5500 clock in at around 4k, depending on where you buy.
Z2300 are discontinued, which in my opinion is another epic fail. You can always try for the Creative Gigaworks T3- though they're also in excess of 2k I think.

You might want to have a look at something like the Logitech Z4's or such. There's also a mid-level 5.1 setup from them if you do decide to go that route- I'll see if I can find the model number.

I have a pair of the Logitech Z623's which can pump out a fair amount of amazing sound... Enough to annoy the neighbours. But I think they go for around R1500 to R2000. If you can stretch your budget, you can't really go wrong with this 2.1 THX System (this is the same pair Starbound is talking about, I think)
