Bad RAM, overheating, stuffed graphics card drivers?
Better post your system specs.
And why the heck is this in the 'The Magazine' section?

Specs in his sig doo.
Also, what doo said. Failing that, I'm going with drivers or some other software interference.

OP - start by testing your RAM and updating your graphics drivers.

Describe the hang, what do you see on the monitor and what can you hear over the speakers?
Edit: Ignore the previous posts they're all just stabbing in the dark.

Well he gave very little info so it could be anything......hence the stabbing in the darkHman wrote:Describe the hang, what do you see on the monitor and what can you hear over the speakers?

If it were RAM he would get a BSOD and an instant restart. Overhearing of the GFX card will result in artifacting.doo_much wrote:Bad RAM, overheating, stuffed graphics card drivers?
Corrupted drivers could be causing this, and so could an overheating CPU.......so do a clean install of the drivers remove your side panel and monitor the temps

Re: computer freezes while in gameplay
I had issues like that with a faulty PSU hence my question about power consumption.
- Spoiler (show)
Re: computer freezes while in gameplay
Yes, a power fluctuation from a faulty PSU could easily cause the system to hang. It could be RAM also, but I suspect an application. What programs do you have running in the background during gaming?

Re: computer freezes while in gameplay
That's a bit high if I am not mistaken. What kind of ventilation does your case have? Maybe try underclocking your cpu or disabling turbo and see if the temps reduce and your system doesn't freeze anymore? If that fixes it you can upgrade your cooling a bit.
Edit: looking it up, it seems your temps are high, but still ok. Is that the max even under strain?

Re: computer freezes while in gameplay
Those CPU temps are a bit high for gaming. Is it overclocked at all? But I don't think that temps are the problem here. Sounds to me like your PSU is taking strain or its failing, or the constant key pressing tone sounds like software, eg drivers, hanging app

Re: computer freezes while in gameplay
This tells me the GPU isn't locking up, the problem lies elsewhere.Sabs1ZN wrote:so when my pc freezes the screen just jams on wat is showing and the sound is lyk wen a button onda keyboard jams and it types the same letter 1way...hard to explain its lyk "dddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd" that sound

I assume the 70-80 refers to the GPU, then it's within reason.Sabs1ZN wrote:around 60-70 c
The 60-70 for the CPU is way too hot, either you are overclocking or your cooler is not working properly. Either clock back if you were overclocking or remove and clean the cooler and re-mount it with a good quality TIM.

I'm inclined to agree- that's too hot for cpu.
Also, thanks to Molean and his blanky, every time I now read the thread title I see computer sneezes while in gameplay

@ Syko... I'd like to see a computer sneezing. Should be funny
I'm astounded about those temps. 70-80 is alright for a GPU but the CPU at 60 deg I'm wondering at what point it will actually start melting.

Those temps are okSabs1ZN wrote:yup they are around the 70-80 c temperature
That is a bit hot for a CPU. Actually earlier this year I had this problem but only while playing crysis 2, the overheat alarm would sound and then the game would become really slow. The CPU was reaching 72 degreesSabs1ZN wrote:around 60-70 c
But I bought a coolermaster TX3 and now it never goes past 35 degrees. So either get a better cooler or do what Hman said
