i5 Rig (on +-R6500 Budget)

Post by eXtreMe99 »

Hey Guys,

I've decided to go i5 and would appreciate some feedback regarding my budget (+-R6500)
I'm obviously not expecting to get anything high-end ,as my budget is rather sad as it is. I'm not into serious gaming anymore, but it would be assuring to know that the system could still handle new games comfortably :).
I'm hanging onto my HDD, so I would pretty much need everything else.

Any suggestions?

P.S. I'd like to include the i5 2500 if possible and would be fine with 4 gigs of RAM for the time being :)

Thanks in advance, Shaun.

Hey Shaun,

Any ideas or offers that you've seen thus far?

There are some places that do custom pcs. The ones I can think of now are Evetech in the north (Joburg I think) and CyberGecko (Cape Town I think). Evetech been in the game bit longer than CyberGecko but their prices are bit steep imo. Both also do nationwide shipping as far as I remember. Check them out if you get the chance.

Tbh I have never been a fan of pre-built systems. Custom is the way to go :)

Thanks for the feedback guys :) Totally forgot to include the offers/quotes that I've received thus far, sorry for that.

@Sakkie81, Just checked out CyberGecko, pretty decent prices :) Will check out Evetech's site shortly. Thanks for the heads up!

@Ashlee, The rig in my signature I'm passing down to my brother. This rig you've listed is exactly on par with what I've been looking for. Only problem was, I couldn't seem to put a system together for that price :) Thanks a mill for the advice. Will see if I can find a store in Cape Town that offers these great prices. Thanks again!

What you mean ? I used this site: www.pcint.co.za for everything except the graphics that i got from www.rebeltech.co.za, maybe you can get some one in joburg to buy the parts for you. In cape town i do not know of many stores but try prophecy.co.za they nation wide deliver.

Most online stores seem to be in the north :)

I know Evetech is up there somewhere. Dunno where Landmark, Pcint, rebeltech, zaps, cybergecko are.

Sure some of those must be in the cape. Come on guys. You Gautengers cant hog all the stores :D

Bottom line, Most of them should ship nationwide anyways. Just check shipping costs for everyone. If item price+shipping is still cheaper in other part of country than in your local town then it doesnt really matter does it? Just extra day or two waiting for delivery instead of being able to collect.

I'm kinda curious now also where everyone is. Someone should make a list of where these shops physically reside.

Will try and find out and post it here for you guys. Watch this space :)
