Red is cool if it's the theme of the whole case, but it looks crappy on mine with all the blue coolant running through the tubing, so blue or white looks sooooo nice... :)

I've pretty much decided that my next GPU will be the next revision of fermi, probably a 495 (dual GPU) if they do in fact go that route, and then the next upgrade on the case will be the triple 120mm lid where I'll install a triple radiator and water cool the GPU as well. :)

My case is the HAF 922, my board is the Rampage III Extreme, my RAM is Dominator GT, my GPU is the 5970. See a pattern emerging? :P

Sigh, so my GTX 480 will arrive this week, and my DD water block for it will arrive next week sometime from the States, so next weekend I will once AGAIN be draining and reconfiguring my system...

All for a good cause at least. :P

Man, that is awesome! Have you seen the review on Guru 3D where they popped a DD cooler onto a GTX 480? Load temps went from 95 to 49. It also consumed 16 watts less power.

http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-g ... en-review/

They also OCed it to the following:

Original & Overclocked + VTweak 1.125v
Core Clock: 700MHz to 900MHz
Shader Clock: 1400MHz to 1800MHz
Memory Clock: 3696MHz to 4400MHz

Load temp was then 59. And under 1,920 x 1,200, Battlefield Bad Company 2 went from 55 FPS to 69 FPS. Also very awesome.

Yup, that article was the decider for me! Very impressive block from DD... My temps will be higher because I'll be running my CPU on the same loop, but it will be very quiet and still way below the stock cooler. :D

Any word on all your new PC stuff MT?

I want to ask you two questions:

1 - How long before you SLi it? :D
2 - Where do you live?

My case should have been delivered yesterday, hopefully today. Everything else is at the other suppplier, excluding the CPU cooler, which I am waiting for before I have everything delivered together. I am also still waiting for the RAM, which if I'm lucky, will be here next week.

Then the 5970 I will only get once the insurance has processed my claim. Until then, I will be using a 1 GB 220 GT which will be my dedicated PhysX card when the ATI arrives.

Yoh, SLI... That will require some upgrades. New PSU, upgraded triple radiator to cope with the load and possibly even my current raddy as well so more piping and a new top for my case to accommodate it, not to mention the second 480 and water block, haha. Lots of dollar! So that's a while off still... One is more than enough for me right now.

Cool man, sounds like your stuff is slowly nearing completion! You must be super amped at this point...

I'm getting withdrawal symptoms from lack of gaming, music and movies!

But yes, I am VERY excited! Even thought of taking some pics of my PC building and posting it on the forum, along with lots of benchmarks.

Yeah you definitely should! I always want to do similar, especially with my water cooling setup, but then I'm either too lazy or can't wait to get the stuff all set up and going...

Busy staring at my Rampage III Extreme, which is standing on my desk... good think it's still in the box, otherwise there would be drool all over it.

I'm not getting the HAF 922 anymore, I'm going for the HAF X. Feature-wise, this is pretty much the perfect case. Check out this awesome video review:

I'm not crazy about the outside look, but for that price, it's got insane value.

Well I changed my fans on my WC setup around slightly and the difference is crazy! I had the fan blowing against the radiator from outside, but this was messing up the airflow in the case and causing temps to rise...

I positioned the fan inside the case now blowing out against the rad, and took off my cases door so that the 2 inlet fans get better flow from outisde, and the system temp as well as the CPU temp are down about 10 degrees C! Max CPU temp under Prime 95 full load is now 64C when running at 4GHz with a 1.325v vCore and system temp is at 36C!

Now I eagerly await the arrival of my 480 waterblock this week, and then I'll update pics... :D

Yeah WC in this part of the world is pretty scarce, so that makes it expensive. I'll give you my stuff for cheap if and when I upgrade... :)

Okay so I received the DD GTX 480 block today, and all is set up and cruising along at lovely temps and 100% silent... :D

Remember, I'm running my i7 at 4.0 GHz on the same loop, so they would obviously be better on a dedicated loop, or with a bigger radiator, which is the next step down the line, but for now I'm very happy!

GPU @ idle: 33C

GPU @ full load (Furmark for 30 minutes): 60C

For the sake of comparison, I ran the same Furmark test with the stock cooler and temps topped off at 82C with the fan at 82% (which was rather loud indeed!). Now it's completely silent, except of course for my case fans and radiator fan... :D

Haha!

I would've also, but it takes much longer to manufacture the nickel plated ones so there's a backlog, and I really didn't want to wait. You also don't see the underside at all, unless you crouch down and purposefully look underneath... :)

Well, at least your PC is chilling as well.

My Venomous X Black is here, but I asked them to keep it for me until my HAF X arrives, which is probably only next week. :(

About 20 games currently installed and then we're not talking about up-and-coming releases either...
