Re: The Movie Thread
Two movies: Tucker and Dale vs Evil An original comedy horror/thriller? What? Yes! Very funny, lots of gore, lovable main characters, well acted as much these things go. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Seven Psychopaths Really enjoyed it as well. Great cast, including Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell, Woody Harr...

Re: The Movie Thread
Personally they should release a blu-ray special effects version that has the movie edited down to only the fight scenes...as I feel that is all that is worth watching... And the little girl. I was really amazed by her. She is even more impressive when you realise she was reacting to a green screen...

I was trying to be adult and keep my composure and all that nonsense but Pacific Rim deserves better. It was AWESOME AWESOME ... and I need to see it 400 more times. :wav: Dude. After the movie was over I thought to myself: "I'm gonna need a bigger TV". 12 hours later, the movie is still ...

Re: The Movie Thread
I have viewed quite a few films recently... Killing Them Softly - 7/10 Cool Mafia Hitman flick. Was done in a unique manner, though certain viewers will feel some of the stars and dialogue is pointless. The Ice Man - 8/10 Very dark biopic based on the true life "Ice Man Killer" a mafia hit...

Just got back from watching DEFTONES, live in Cape Town (ok well they played last night) and they were EFFING AWESOME! I was absolutely blown away by the show...Chino has such an epic stage presence and knows how to command a crowd with the acoustics being second to none, I am still in awe at how am...

Re: The Movie Thread
Viewed Pacific Rim over the weekend aaaaand it was cool, with some of the most lush effects I have ever seen, not to mention really epic robot vs monster fight sequences...HOWEVER, I felt the movie was lacking heart...or certain human emotion. You can speech and shout as much as you want, but if you...

Re: The Movie Thread
Haha, hopefully is matches the coolness and originality of the first one. Viewed "The Wolverine" yesterday and it is rather average. A few cool action scenes, otherwise it is just more of the same not to mention there are plot holes a plenty and was quite long...you will probably enjoy it ...

Re: The Movie Thread
Viewed "The Internship" over the weekend and it has to be one of the most dismal comedies I have seen this year…lame jokes ahoy, lacklustre story, not to mention Vince and Owen are stale as they come…they weren’t kidding when they said it feels like one big ad for Google…I thought it may h...

I haven't read the whole book Tell the truth, you haven't even picked the book up :P I knew going in that the movie and book share a name and nothing else and I was fine with that. Haha, ok I didn't pick up the book, I double clicked on the ebook ;) Tbh I didn't find the book compelling enough and ...

Re: The Movie Thread
World War Z - 8/10 The story is OK, but the way it rolled out was pretty cool...almost like a video game one could say. In this film you feel the panic and dread, which is what a Zombie flick needs, coupled with a few varied action scenes and you have quite an entertaining flick on your hands. Ther...

Re: The Movie Thread
Viewed a few films over the weekend Dead Man Down 7/10 - Interesting film, however there are a few letdowns, like Farrell's acting and the pacing. I did enjoy the scenes of suspense and action. Odd Thomas 7.5/10 - Another intriguing film that is done in a unique way. A few plot holes let the flick d...

In other news, my wife is keen to go watch The Long Ranger. I haven't read any reviews of it yet, but I have this sneaky suspicion that I am going to come away disappointed. Hmm...which movie does she want to view :P ;) Pacific Rim is at the hight of my want to watch list...nothing else really come...

I concur with seeing where they take it...as maybe they will improve on their first attempt...ghett0_ghuru wrote:meh ..... it's different, it creates controversy and discussion and more importantly

Man of Steel - 7/10 - Decent reboot which is leaps and bounds better than the last attempt Honestly, that's kinda like saying that "Die Hard" was better than "Silence of the Lambs." It's hard to compare good movies from completely different perspectives. I disagree with your com...

Re: The Movie Thread
Spud 2 - 6/10 - Rather lame sequel. Bad acting all around and nothing really makes this flick stand out at all... Monster University - 6/10 - Also thought this was quite average. They literally go through all the typical university stereotypes and happenings, just with a animated skin...I expected ...
