Re: BOOT PROBLEM
You say you fiddled with the cabling then it works. Perhaps something isnt plugged in right, check your ram is sitting all the way down and plugs are all in securely. After you've checked that we can look at other possible culprits

Re: Windows 7 64bit and monitor signal issues
WEIRD! My bro had the same kinda problem with his pc on Friday. the computer appears to be running alright but the screen wouldnt come on, I unplug the VGA and only then does the screen come on. Back to topic though it sounds like the screen. Someone else on the forum had the same kinda problem a wh...

Re: Experiences with Inno3D?
If your not going to be overclocking and fiddling with voltages and rasing the temps then I'd go for the cheapest one you can find. After all its still a GTX580 underneath all the branding. In the cheaper cards they have probably put on a cheaper cooler, removed the VRM and used inferior caps. The p...
Re: PC Cases
The HAF932 is an amazing case, and I doubt you would even need an aftermarket GPU cooler. The only issues some people have with them is their size, it looks like a bar fridge. My NZXT Phantom is also huge and some guys don't like it for that reason. I got no problem whatsoever
Re: My new pc
Firstly I'd get the G Skill Ripjaws X 4GB kit because of their lower voltage, but for you I'd recommend the cheapest one because your not into overclocking too much. I'd get the Twin Frozr GTX570 because it'll cool the gpu better when I overclock, again you're not into it so I'd recommend the cheape...

Re: PC Upgrade Time!
Looks like a pretty solid setup. I'd go for a bigger SSD, 120GB. And may I ask why do you want a mATX mobo? Its going to look lost inside the big case with the enormous cooler towering above the tiny little board
Re: My new pc
The RAM won't make any difference in gaming. I would suggest the P67 over the Z68 for such a huge price cut!! You're using a discreet GPU and your only using the PC for gaming so the P8P67 is perfect. You could save even more money by downgrading to the P8P67 Pro. And as much as I love ROG, the Maxi...

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Funny how everyone uses sneaky characters with Bow and Arrows. I've been getting owned by Giants and Spriggans for a while and I'm wondering if choosing a Bow was a good idea. But I'm loving the game nonetheless. feels just like Oblivion, I was hoping for better graphics TBH, but no major complaints:)

Re: 20 mhz Increase really made that difference?
Well I'm guessing it was 20Mhz to the core clock? Remember first of all your effective OC isn't 20Mhz because its GDDR5. But that's not important, 20Mhz shouldn't really make much of an improvent, your 7FPS isn't that big but its 7FPS for free and you're only just starting out! You can push your car...

Nicely said Kalster! I agree
Re: My new pc
I stand by my RAM suggestion. For the GPU I'd go for a reference design GTX570, and for the screen, they sell all sorts at PC Zone. 23" LED Syncmaster for around R1500

Re: Project: Overkill
Uh that's a tough one, I'm kinda like you where I like having the best of the best. But I would save up even more until technology evolves etc and the new rig will make a huge difference in performance. I would maybe throw in another GPU into your current rig but your current cpu is handling all you...

Re: which gpu is best???
Very true Starbound its not something many people realise. GTX580 isn't overkill but its way out of his budget.
Re: My new pc
My opinion: I'd drop the ram to 4GB 1333 cl9 and spend that saved cash on a cooler to look after your 2500K.
But that's just me. No the gpu you have listed is awesome dude you could probably find a reference gtx570 for a lil bit cheaper but Twin Frozr is good. It'll keep your gpu temps low:)

Why aren't u going for an Ivy Bridge rig?
Re: My new pc
The P67 is generally a few hundred rand cheaper than Z68. with the Z68 you get access to the on chip gpu and video transcoding hardware etc for about R100 extra which is worth it IMO. IMO the 2700K is a waste of time, it is exactly the same as the 2600K, except it is 100mhz faster. you can overclock...

Re: Post your Rig!
I can get 4.9ghz stable with my cooler, at 5ghz my temps are too high unless I switch off HT but I'll don't like that. Bro I'm 95% sure you will reach 5Ghz, your temps will be high but it'll get there. My temps at 4.9 reach 86 degrees on 1.42V. The cpu throttles at 95 so I'm only 10 degrees away fro...

G skill is a pretty good brand, I've heard great things about them and i currently have G Skill RAM in my rig, and it hasnt let me down. Oh and to save money look at getting 4GB ram instead of 8, that'll c...

Re: Corsair RAM
Are you gona have 1 stick of RAM in your PC? You normally put in 2, or 4, or 6 sticks of RAM. When its an odd number you used to run into problems back in the day. So perhaps go for a 2x 2GB Kit. they're normally sold in kits for this reason
