EDIT: as for games, Most games are not compatible with 64bit XP/Vista. :| Please don't include XP 64 in your generalisation. I've not had any game issues with XP64 OK now I get confused: XP 64bit is OK but Vista 64bit is not OK?? :? Would it be good to say Vista 64bit is not OK right now but will b...

I can upgrade the Basic to the Home Premium online using the new online upgrade system. The download is about 2 minutes apparently and the original DVDis required so I guess that the Premium version of the OS is also on the same CD and the download is a serial number/access code only. I plan to do t...

Vista is seriously memory hungry

My new PC (details in signature below) has 1 Gb of Dual DDR RAM running Vista 64 bit Home version. The widget gadget thing shows RAM use is up about 70-80% mark most of the time. I opened MS Office 2003 and tried to change the paper clip help critter to something else. Vista tells me there is not en...

I have told my service provider that I will cancel this contract if I cannot get the thing to work. They are also investigating this for ...

Eish - this is not what I want to hear guys. So then what exactly is the benefit to the home PC owner of having 64 bit version? If it is no faster than 32 bit and it does not support most existing software, why would people want it? I guess I can only blame myself for not checking this thoroughly be...

I must say that it has not been an easy upgrade to Vista x64. I built this PC myself. My biggest shock was on trying to install the graphics driver for my R4000 graphics card and the screen pops up saying "Sorry, we don't support Vista". I was able to download a driver from the web @ about...

Vista won't accept 3G data card

I have just replaced a Win XP PC that had a PCMCIA card that worked perfectly with the Vodafone Mobile Connect 3G HSDPA card, with a brand new machine using Vista Home Basic 64 bit OS. I have kept the same PCMCIA card for the new machine. Vista sees the PCMCIA card fine and Device Manager is happy a...
