Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Finally sat down to watch the E3 coverage of the game, first time I've actually paid much attention to it, because Oblivion last my interest a few hours in (call me a tard but too much freedom in a game and I get so side-tracked that I lose focus on what the heck I'm supposed to be doing). Yet I enj...

You're better off, ending a relationship that way says mountains about the value of respect to her. TBH, you're also better off without the excess baggage.

Re: Point of View Graphics cards

And just one question, unless your PC is being used to drive a home-made CERN super collider, 16Gb of RAM is overkill (4Gb is usually more than enough for gaming unless you intend on adding a 46" monitor), you'll get much better performance out of 4Gb and put the money saved towards an SSD for ...

Re: Point of View Graphics cards

In this day and age, all the boards for a particular model by none of the "known" brands are based on the reference boards that will serve you just as well as the more expensive "name brand" ones. It's usually Gigabyte, MSI etc., that get rights to add in factory overclocks etc, ...

If anybody hasn't got it yet or needs some reason to get excited for Skyrim, BT Games have got the Oblivion 5th Year Anniversary Special Edition for R99 which includes a steelbook, map, add-ons, GOTY edition all included.

Re: October Edition

I'm running a Core i3 2100 in my rig coupled to an AMD Radeon 6850 and have not yet found been hamstrung by any game. I bought the chip after reading a lot of the reviews on Tom's and at the time, the i3 mopped the floor with most of the multi-core chips AMD had to offer. Not interested in overclock...

Re: RAGE - Enter the Wasteland

Was quite keen on pre-ordering actually, Tim Willits tweeted that updated AMD drivers and a patch for the game are imminent, only problem is Steamworks, the install is 20+ Gb so how big will the Steam download for the retail be? My poor 2Gb 3G data cringes...

Hi guys, I've had a BB on contract for the last two years with BIS incorporated into my MTN Anytime 200 package at no additional cost (total spend = R200 per month). I get to upgrade next month, and having seen the price drop in the iPhone 4 with the imminent release of the iPhone 4S, I'm quite keen...

Cool might dl it tonight and have a stab at it. I never actually played it so it would be interesting. Same with me, just trying to figure out if I can download it here with my uncapped at the office rather than my Cell C HSPA at home... Enjoyed the second one so much, may as well try the first one...

For a limited time, Portal (the first one) is free to download and install from Steam, kudos to Lazygamer for the find.

Re: Which Graphic Card?

Huh, 5770 < 6850, believe me, I did all the research before getting mine. The 6850 is equivalent to the GTX460, which was top of the middle range when I bought, the 5770 was the top of the budget range or entry-level mid-range when I bought.

Re: Braaiday (24 September)

Got my at Builder's Warehouse, was about R140, think the brand is Alva, basically a round terracotta stone that you pop onto the grill and leave it to heat up with the lid closed for about 45 minutes. The tile draws moisture from the dough so you get that delicious crispy base like from a pizza oven...

I got a big braai at home and when we have friends over, the dop comes out, I chuck two bags of charcoal or briquettes in the braai and light it. We normally only start braaing at like 8 at night and the fire was started at 5! Couldn't resist this, was the first thing that came to mind: kYdQu...

Re: Braaiday (24 September)

Chat is a chimney starter? It's essentially a metal cylinder about 30cm tall and half that in diameter with a vented grate about a quarter of the way up. The whole thing is fitted with a handle. What you do essentially is stack your charcoal into the canister atop the grate. You tear up a few small...

Re: Braaiday (24 September)

I'm not a fan of gas and I have refused to braai with people that use gas. The meat just does not taste the same I'm sorry. I am largely in agreement, although modern gas braais do a better job than the older ones used to. I will eat boerewors rolls done on a gas braai, but I agree that other meat ...

Re: Budget Gaming Build R4600

The question is what you intend on doing with your rig? The best gaming budget build will be built on an i3 2100 - I got one in December and even though it's a dual core chip, it's multi-threaded and more than enough grunt for most games that won't even use the additional cores anyway. Add to that f...

Re: Diablo 3 Official!!!

Without opening a flame war, the only thing I can slate Runic for is being "1 game late" i.e. Torchlight 1 was like Diablo 1 with a modern coat of paint, and Torchlight II looks to follow suit i.t.o Diablo II. D3 on the other hand, looks like it's evolved one step further. Please tell me ...
