Re: Ubuntu 8.10 released!

Purdy! Real Purdy.....but is the 3D Rectangle wossname practical? Is it practical? The desktop cube is one of the reasons I now feel crippled on a windows desktop. Especially the scale plugin. Switching to a window on any desktop quickly is as easy as tapping some keys (or a few clicks if you're th...

Re: Ubuntu 8.10 released!

After my writer turned my very last CD into a beautiful frisbee (I've posted it on eBay if anyone's interested. BTW it can also double as a coaster), I needed a way to install without a CD. Then I found UNetBootin. This program creates a bootable, installable USB drive. Just what I was looking for. ...

A+ and N+ Exams

Hey guys.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me the prices of writing the A+ and N+ exams. I can only find info on the whole course and not specifics on just the exams. I have the course materials and would like to book only the exams if that is possible.

Thanks in advance.

In the recovery console on the xp cd try the following (preferably with only the xp drive in)

Code: Select all

fixboot c:

fixmbr c:
Not sure anymore if you need to specify the drive letters that's why its best to leave just the xp drive in.

Evangelion was awsome in English IMO. I got the Rebuild part 1 and I just skipped through it for now, but it sounds weird in Japanese. lol I also only got an english dub of evangelion and I got over the language quite quickly. Now with rebuild it's totally weird. I wonder if I should look for an en...

Liet_Kynes the way mtn works (I think) is that there are lots of internal IP's (10.76.96.1, 10.76.96.2, 10.76.96.3, etc) all linked to 1 external IP (196.207.35.48 ). Really? Damn that's messed up. Well it's gonna be hard making yourself connectable to the outside world then since mtn are basically...

Have any of you tried using the torrent to fix your corrupt downloads. Downloading the whole cd again is a bit much and the torrent would just reget the corrupt parts.

The easiest way is to use synaptic.

System -->Administration-->Synaptic Package manager

or you could use Applications --> Add/Remove

OR

You could download a deb file but i don't suggest that cos it can be a hassle with depencies.

@anthro. The wubi install is definitely one of the things I want to try. Just to see it.

Runing it a a "virtual machine" defeats its purpose for me. I'd like to see how they set it up though.
