Advice about Seagate Warranty?
Hey guys! Earlier this year I bought a Seagate 2TB hard drive from Digital Addiction, before it was taken over by new management. The hard drive cost me nearly R2000. The drive has failed, and I'm trying to exchange it. Now, apart from the rather slow customer service, I seem to have another problem...

Not sure which is grammatically correct.) that will work on South African networks. I know about the Evo 4G and th...

Re: Q9550 with GTX275, any alternitives to these two?
Try and sell what you can and aim for a socket 1156 system (i5 or i7) with ATI HD 5850. Both will outperform your choices. i5 750 is around R1800 and Ati HD 5850 is around R3000. ASUS P7P55D mobo around R1500, RAM around R1200. Thats R7000. Someone might buy your system for the difference. Edit: Oh...

Q9550 with GTX275, any alternitives to these two?
Hey Guys! I'm looking to buy myself a new graphics card and CPU. See my signature for my current specs. I've been nosing around, and the Intel Q9550 and Nvidia GTX275 look like good options to suit both my gaming needs, and my bank balance. I'm trying to stay below R2800 for the graphics card and be...

Re: Intel E2160 + Asus P5K Deluxe Question
Hey Prophet. I actually managed to get my E2160 from 1.8GHz to 3GHz in the end. Been running it at 3GHz the whole winter . But now that summer's nearly here again, I'm getting reacquainted with my old friend, BSOD. Darn overheating! I think I'd rather invest that spare R760 into a watercool...

Thanks for the replies guys.
I had a go at all the software, and Teracopy worked the best. It dit exactly what I wanted without any tweaking required.
The irony is, I have been using Teracopy for months now, but I just never noticed that it did what I wanted all along.
Thanks again!

Hey Guys! I am a BIG Oblivion fan, and I love downloading and trying out new mods. As many of you who share this love for mods will know, you often need to copy the folders from the mod to your Oblivion\Data directory. (textures to textures, armor to armor, etc). But I find it quite cumbersome to in...

Which died, my PSU or my Mobo?
Greetings All! I have a pretty big problem on my hands. I suspect that my new Gigabyte 1200W PSU (which is only about a month or so old), or my motherboard has given up the ghost. This is what happens: When I press the power button on my PC, the power LED on my motherboard lights up and stays on, so...

Combining a website with an on-line game?
Hey Guys! I'm no n00b to computers, but when it comes to web development, I'm stumped. I have no idea whether this sounds like a tall order, but please bear with me. I want to create a website that has an online multi-player game on it. Players will set up their profile and then play against other p...

Hey Guys. After much research and painstakingly sifting through my PC settings, I found the source of my frustration. There was nothing wrong with the drive, it was (shockingly! ) thanks to Windows. Turns out if you get a few CRC error messages, it changes your DMA settings to the older PIO m...

Extremely Slow data transfer rates
Hey guys! Quick question : I recently Overclocked my PC (see my sig below) The problem is, my transfer rates are becoming ludacrisly slow. Earlier today, I tried writing 3.5 GB to a DVD. Where it usually took about 15 min, it took over an hour! That, and when I try copying data from one drive...

Is my 8500GT running too hot after I overclocked?
Hey guys! While I'm waiting for enough moola to trickle into my bank account (to buy a new Radeon 4850 8) ), I've decided to put all my chips on the table and squeeze every last drop of performance out of my 8500GT. I've managed to raise the Core from 450MHz to 760MHz and the Memory from 300MHz to 4...

Re: The 22" LCD Thread
Sorry mate, doesn't work like that. You get a fixed amount off. You wont get 3x the discount if you give them 3 items. If that was the case, I would have given them so much junk, I would have walked out with a free monitor. I paid R1900 in total for my 2253GW. The normal retail price is R2500, but I...

Thanks for the link ModDoc! Now , would my 450W PSU have enough grunt to power the 4850? And if so, do you think it would cope with both the 4850 and 8500GT (as a physx card - thanks DarkStar!) ?

Re: 8500GT. Upgrade or SLI?
Thanks Guys! I'll shoot for the 4850, even if it means eating tuna out of the can for a few months :-D. If I buy this card, I want it to last me at least another 3 years. What brand would you recommend: Sparkle, XFX, etc? Does the 4850 have decent overclocking potential? Oh, and by the way, anyone i...

8500GT. Upgrade or SLI?
Hey guys! I recently became the proud owner of a Samsung 2253GW 22" Widescreen LCD. The only problem is, it seems my little 8500GT is having trouble coping with this new monster. I'm considering putting a little more oomphf into my graphics setup but the thing is, I'm not sure which route to ta...

Re: The 22" LCD Thread
The trade-in works like this : you take your old monitor or pc (mine was a 1998, 15" acer CRT) to Incredible Connection. They donate it to charity. For being such a good samaritin, you then get a discount. On the 2253GW, I got R600 off. Doesn't matter whether your old monitor is worth more or l...
