You will need directional antennas, don't even think omni. Also forget about using an extension on an antenna. Rather look at possibly 2 x RouterBoard 133s running Mikrotik RouterOS (one for each side) and 2 x 14dBi panels.

Probably the best solution, but not the cheapest :P

Squid proxy - Help needed

I have a squid proxy running. I need to allow access to this site http://196.25.20.98:8082/eRes/admin, but it just seems to deny me access although it allows access to other sites in the "allow" list. I think due to the proxy running on port 8080 it will not allow access to port 8082 as ne...

Seems fine. Maybe ask for DDR2-800 RAM rather than the DDR2-667. I assume there will be no gaming done on this rig?

Looks like a fiberglass rendition of what they would like you to believe is a new species of reptile residing in the shallow waters of the Durban beaches.

Nope... not that Gfx card... Wait a short while for the 8800GT to be freely available locally, then you get that instead of the 8600. Wont be too much more expensive and outruns most GTS's... And then when the 8800GT comes out, wait a little longet and you can get the.... Its the never ending upgra...

I use Mikrotik for this. You can get the local IP tables from Telkom. Load them into a firewall address list then set a firewall rule to check the address list first before choosing the interface. If the IP address you are trying to access is in the address list then use the interface with the local...
