Thing is anyone can create a website and fraudlently use images from a trusted vendor. Ditto terms and conditions only mean something if they are a reputable company. Suing even a legitimate company is only going to generate income for lawyers. :twisted: I deliberately left out the name of the websi...

Online Retailer Verification

:?: Anyone know if there is a way to verify if an online retailer is a reputable company? The site I'm interested in buying from claims to be Mastercard verified, but I would like to check. Could'nt find SA contact details on the Mastercard website, so I phoned Nedbank card division and they said th...

Notebook graphics cards are notorious for not running games, the patch may or my not help. You could try updating to the latest drivers. I'm running a Leadtek 128MB Geforce FX5200, I also had problems so I downloaded the patch, all 25MB of it on a 56k modem. Did'nt help at all. So I emailed lucasart...

Spam USA

Just read something about the US Military spaming Iraq with emails. "Give up or we´ll Nuke you!" or something like that... <BR> <BR>Maybe they could blacklist their mail servers? Death to spammers! <BR> <BR>"Make love, not war!" <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_cry.gif&qu...

Linux+

I´m a newbie to Linux, I have been considering doing a Linux+ to improve my career marketability. <BR> <BR>I simply cannot afford to get Vendor certified, and was wondering if it´s reasonably possible to get a basic grounding and pass the CompTIA exam by just buying a textbook and teaching myself. <...

Turns out that this is a Win XP bug, and it isn´t fixed by SP1. Guess we´ll just have to live with it... Viva MS Viva!

Wich 3d Card????

...hmmm. Been pondering the Radeon 9000 Pro 128MB / Geforce 4 Ti 4200 question myself. Maybe I´ll wait for the Radeon 9500 to come down in price. <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif">

AGP BUS is 2X instead of 4X

Depending on the age and make of your mainboard, you may not be able to get 4x. Best to check the spec in the manual or on the manufacturers website. <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_smile.gif">

Windows XP not intialising external modem

Got a bit of an odd but minor problem - If I don´t switch on my external modem before I boot WinXP Pro, the modem won´t dial out. This can be overcome by refreshing the hardware list in the device manager, but it´s a pain. <BR> <BR>I´ve tried a CNet(Intel) and Dynalink(Rockwell) ext modem - same pro...

HDD´s

Maxtor are not bad, 3yr warranty.
<BR>Personally Iwould´nt touch a Western Digital with a barge-pole (replace many 4.3 and 10GB catastrophicly failed drives).
<BR>
<BR>Fujitsu´s OK, Segate (5400 rpm) are a bit slow. Conner also fails a lot.
