Just an update, so after loads and loads of calls to Telkom and doing several speed tests they say something on my side is the problem. Just to confirm is a speedtest of 0.8mb to and international server like London normal, and if it isnt what should it be

gave Telkom a call they made me do a couple of speed tests which gave some erratic results, so they have logged a customer fault and we will see what happens. My speeds are now averaging about 25KB/s so its probably a Telkom problem although I don't see why speedtest and other give such a high line ...

Yep upgraded 2 days ago, like I said browsing is quite fast but its just slow downloads, I will give Telkom a call a little later.

Are you just downloading directly through IE/FF? No download manager? Getting the same speeds in different browsers? Just finished trying that and no success. Still has the same problems, but also now shows a svhost.exe error when booting. It also now lets me select the username but then it does the same as it did before by starting to log in then just showing desktop background and nothing else

Unfortunately too late for that now as I already did which is very stupid in retrospect.
Isn't their anyway I can get into it so I can update the drivers because after that I am sure I could activate it over the net
