Your saying that x=x+1 you cannot interpret any problem that way (I hope 10 years as a registered mech engineer qualifies me to discuss this with you) Please clarify what you are trying to say here, your grammar has lost me a bit. da_ripper: I'm not sure exactly which form of the argument and/or it...

I'm going with the wheel thing. That's what the question looks like to me. As I've said before the problem is poorly stated and far too broad. I googled it a bit and saw much better and 'more solvable' versions of it elsewhere. If you "solve" this question with my method (using perfect pa...

Why is this still being argued over? The Plane takes off. Full Stop. "The belt compensates for the rotation of the wheels in reverse" It is not the conveyor belt moves backward at the speed of the airplane, but at the speed of the wheel rotation. Thus, you cannot say the wheels will just turn twice as fast, as it is causing the cb to speed up as well... <<...

Maybe this will help? Replace the conveyor belt with an infinitely long , flat sheet of ice in the sea and replace the wheels of the plane with skates...<snip> err, no. Why so stubborn? If the flat sheet of ice were to move backwards relative to the plane, it would be the same as with the co...

But D3 runs fine on ultra with only the odd parts with noticible lag. the classic mod lags almost all the time...?even on high detail.

ST1R , dont go and get nasty... its a discussion... ok Kankuro, fair enough... So if I go and eat a boat load of baked beans and sit and fart on the bicycle I will start moving forward as well? Ok... So you are saying the plane will start moving forward on the conveyor belt and the wheels just spinning faster? Now, the theory says that the conveyor belt will also pick up speed to move at EXACTLY the same speed as the wheels... I know it is the engines pushing the aircraft forward.... Howe...

Thrust is thrust, it is not dependant on the speed of the wheels. The plane will move forward as normal but the wheels will be spinning twice as fast. The conveyor belt will have to be the length of a normal runway though.

No offence bro, but I think you are taking this a little too personally. The price bracket that you are looking at in any reasonable area in Gauteng is probably one of the most competitive in Africa.
