You are right Jelly... Your Sata 2 (3gbs) ports will degrade and fail, where as your Sata 3 (6gbs) ports should be fine as they haven't found any issues with those ports yet...

Starbound.. That is right... You can actually use your SATA3 ports, but if you are going to use those drives alot, the ports will fail. They have not found any issues in the SATA6 ports yet...

I'm kinda in the same boat as you Slim... I bought my mobo and ram already... and was gonna get the CPU this week... I reckon I am gonna wait now until April, get a new mobo, and then get the CPU... In the meantime, I will focus on getting the new chassis, and PSU so that the new rig will be complet...

Actually... Intel is not doing any recalls yet... They are instead gonna let those who experience the issue with the SATA ports bring their boards in to have the ports replaced as and when they fail... Stores in SA, however, have stopped selling boards and CPU's (why the CPU's, I don't know) until s...

I think they will stay there as long as you leave them there... You can then either use them to train up your BO's, which will then send them back... or keep them in the roster till you need them...
