I live in the Cape and I buy most of my stuff at Buycomputers in Diep River and sometimes at Cafe Java/Viva in Claremont. I usually get excellent service at both those places.

And if you have not had the pleasure of reading Wilbur Smith, I would suggest Reading "Eagle in the Sky". You being of the fairer sex would enjoy this book as it would take you through quite a few emotions

If Fantasy is your thing and you already gone through all of Feist and Eddings, then you should give Elizabeth Moon or David Drake a bash it will fill your needs for Sword and Sorcery.

I can forgive you on that seeing as it takes a very strong person to be able to get through a "Tolkein" book, I personally can't, I prefer Feist and Eddings as they don't waffle on 10 pages describing a scenery.

If you have a Velociti do you have the new dash( flat ) or the old round dash like the citi's. The old citi golfs used to have a cover inside in the radio compartment made out of cardboard which used to keep the dust out so if you find and old citi you can either copy the design or buy that piece fr...

Siver3rback putting electronic components on a carpet is not the such a great idea, the static build is sufficient to short out certain component, rather lay it on the anti-static bags it came in or on the boxes.

Buycomputers is in Diepriver and Cafe viva is in Stadium on main in Claremont. The reason why i say rather go in is because once they get to know you, you can pickup a bargain or two ( It might just be that they are getting sick of seeing my face so they give me discounts to get me out. who knows)

Silverback the only two decent places to buy from here in CT is buycomputers and Cafeviva/java, but it is best to go personally to the stores than buying online.

It might be that the board has an old BIOS version which doesn't support Core 2 Duo. Gigabyte doesn't even list a BIOS version for Core 2 Duo on that board.

Yes of course it isn't going at top speed but imagine the jump in performance from using a 540j proccy also if i had R10 000 to throw at my computer i would have owned a better system by now. Also i now own the chip so i can get the other bits slowly to get to the top.

Building a core2duo on a tight budget

Hi guys i don't know if anybody did this yet, but i was desperate for a new core2duo setup but of course like most people the budget is always tight. But amazingly with a bit of googling i built a core2 for under R2500. I hear you asking how that is possible? Fortunately i have always owned Intels (...

Compro Videomate S300 and digital TV

My question is has anybody got this card and has anybody successfully got it working with a satelite dish or even picked up Dstv. Is it even possible here in South Africa to do something like that? If it is how do you go about it?
