Re: Reader's Corner

I found The Silmarillion too difficult to stay focussed on - never finished it. Oh, Lady Tribble! The Silmarillion is a book of such beauty that you can't help but weep in both sorrow and joy as you read it for the 22nd time. The language is like music, it just takes a little getting used to. I'm s...

Re: the (mainly) christian thread.

I'm a huge fan of C.S. Lewis and the following words from his sermon, The Weight of Glory , always make me think that every interaction we have with another human being is so much more than we assume it to be. "It is a serious thing to live in a society of possible gods and goddesses, to rememb...

Bungee Jumping

Hey guys, I'm going to throw myself off a tower tomorrow to celebrate turning 23 recently. I'd just like to know from anyone who has gone bungee jumping before whether I should take a change of underwear and pants with? I'm going to the Orlando Towers in Soweto with a few friends and I think the jum...

I have so many books on my shelf that I have to get to. Re: Reader's Corner

I just finished "Ender's Game" by Orson Scott Card - good book. I read Ender's Game a few month's ago and I really enjoyed it, so much so that I didn't do any work on the day I started reading it. Thank God that it's a relatively short read or I would have ended up getting fired. The sequ...
