Re: Domain Transfer
I have a dedi server hosted in Germany. I've had nothing but excellent service from Hetzner. To answer some of your questions: Is Hetzner a good choice, or have I been very lucky with service so far? It's great. Do any outstanding domain fees need to be settled first between the client and the curre...

Re: win 7 home to win 7 pro upgrade
You should be able to make use of the "Windows Anytime Upgrade" This can be found in your start menu. So far I have been successful in upgrading from Home Starter and Home Premium to Pro without any hassles. Any particular reason you want to go pro though? Only big advantage IMO is the abi...

I think we will just start seeing better 'hybrid' technology be created for desktop users. Having the SSD infront of the HDD acting as a cache of sorts.

Re: Server 2003 and redirected folders
Hey
Is it Server standard or SBS? You can set a GPO to not synchronise specific files/folders. I just can't remember off hand where it is. I can rdp into one of my clients later tonight and get the exact details, will only be able to do it tonight though.

Re: Asterisk (VOIP Server)
The setup will be for our offices. We'll need 5 phones, 2x for accounts and 2x for technical and 1x for the laanie.
We have a 512k ADSL line and unfortuantely can't go upto 4mb as the copper is rubbish.
Nuke, YGPM.

Re: Asterisk (VOIP Server)
What hardware is required for Asterisk ? I looked into all this about two years ago but never got around to it. Do you have to go the ISDN route? Where can one get the required hardware?
If you can offer a quick rundown on the requirements I would gladly appreciate it.

Re: Linux Through a Fanboi's Eyes
Im studying my A+ atm Why? This course has not been relevant since the late 90's. It's fine for a beginner straight out of matric, but if you have been in IT for more than a year this course is beneath you. A+ is still a prerequisite for most hardware/OS orientated IT qualifications. Old as it is, ...
