Just use Offline folders,right click the folder on the network,and choose "make available offline"

the easiest solution will be to use a batch file,and apply it to the "users" OU in Active Directory with a GPO (i assume you use AD)

example: net use s: \\server\share
or net use \\server\printer

well250gig is'nt that much,,,it all depends how fast your backup device is,should'nt take too long to get the server up and running again.

honestly,,,how often does a server crash !!! time spent re-building it will be a fraction of setting up scripts/profiles from individual pc's

I guess nothing is impossible,,,but i'd rather take the risk of the server crashing and restoring than multiple pc's crashing. Writing a script will be a headache for something like this,you'll have to customise the script for each user as they'll have different hostnames. You'll be copying profiles...

You cant expect a local profile to copy to another pc when a user logs on there,,,the only way to solve it is by setting up roaming profiles for the users.why did u stop using roaming profiles?

unfortunately you'll have to copy data manually when a user moves

A little technical knowledge needed.
I managed to get a 730 at a really good price,but it only had 128mb ram,i had a few extra Dimms that i tried,but none work,pc just wont switch on.

what i need to know,are notebooks fussy about RAM,like the make/Mhz etc...?
