Have a question regarding SLI power requirements, though: In a review of gfx power requirement at Xbitlabs, they found a 7800GTX to require 81 Watts at peak 3d demand. So, running 2 of these can draw a max of 162Watts on the 12V line, thus 13.5 Ampere. My friend wants to go dual 7800GTX later on and...

What Dae said - don't bother bios-flashing. If Rivatuner opens the pipeline and they're faulty (i.e. giving you artifacts) there's nothing to be achieved by a bios flash. Also, it's more risky to do bios flash and voids your warantee.

If the 6800LE doesn't unlock, I think it's about the same as the 6600GT and maybe an inch slower at times. But very much the same. But with some unlocking plus OC'in the 6800LE becomes a SERIOUS performer. Check this thread: http://www.pcformat.co.za/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=...

For overclocking, the best budget motherboard would be a Chaintech VNF4. I have one, and it rocks. Reached 320mhz on fsb easily (when trying to find max fsb) and got plenty of nice OC'ing options in the bios. Two thumbs up!!

Hi again I'd say get an OC'ing mobo, entry-level 939 CPU, so value DDR400 ram (2x512mb for dual-channel) and spend ALL the rest on graphics card. Mobo, CPU & ram you may be able to source for around R2600 (If you can find 3000+ AMD chips at the moment!!), that leaves you with about R2400 for gfx...

Will I even see a DIFFERENCE with THIS !!

Hi there Just got a question: Got Transcend DDR400 ram. When I used 133 divider for my ram, the speed comes out to 191 for current fsb (about as high as I can go), with a 166 divider it would be 243. Would changing to DDR500 (so I can run 166 divider for 243mhz ram-speed) REALLY make a noticable dif...

Don't know, should also be able to see stock performance for the review I've posted? Remember: the price difference between the two is almost R600 !! That's more than 60% you pay more for the Pentium, and imo that's rediculous !! I think even if they cost the same, I'd STILL take the Sempron!!

Have you unlocked the hidden pipelines on your father's 6800 128mb yet ? Overclocked ? I scored around 11k in 3dmark03 on a similar setup a while ago, so you should be able to do better.

My advice: anything else than the X800 in the ATI range at the moment is K*K! NVidia has firmly got the lead in the all-important midrange section with the excellent 6600GT (don't consider anything else if this is your pricerange) and has also now taken the crown from ATI in the high end section wit...
