Re: Graphics card down, or is it? (9800gtx)

Thanks I'll try it; just a bit hard to reach the lever to push the card out on the motherboard - I'll get around to it. Thanks again.

Graphics card down, or is it? (9800gtx)

So after what I presume was a bumpy ride for my pc in transit using national post services, my graphics card produces artifacts on startup. But when I boot into windows 7, the artifacts are gone and windows reports a code 43 'the hardware reported errors' for the graphics card. So is it somehow usin...

POST Failure, faulty motherboard?

Recently, I left my PC in the hands of my sister who unwittingly tried to change earphone jacks behind the PC. I wasn't there to witness this so I have no idea what she did, but it won't even power on now or enter the BIOS. The PC has been working stable for the last 6 months. At first I thought thi...

Re: Sacred 2 Released

I got sacred 2 and so far I'm pretty impressed. Reminds me a bit of dungeon siege II which i really liked. playing light campaign with seraphim. I also played a game over the net with a friend using battleLAN and it worked out pretty well so far, except for some lag :/. I think the patch would solve...

There is a 1gb variety of the hd4870, by connect3d, and I assume other companies might come out with something along the lines of that in the near future. Might be worth waiting for.

PSU woes

I've got a psu problem. Simply, when I connect the 20 pin and 4 pin connector of my 550w psu to the motherboard and I hit the on button it refuses to power up (no led indicators on the motherboard or anything). How i realized this was due to the psu was when I connected the identical connectors of m...

Thanks for responses guys. I've resorted to the E8400 in this case, only slightly more expensive than th E6850, and dual core seems the way to go for gaming atm. What sort of OC can I expect with stock cooling on an E8400 (supposing a good motherboard)

Core 2 Duo or Quad

So I'm building a new (gaming) rig and would like some advice on what CPU is better for gaming purposes: an E6850 Core 2 Duo (3ghz) or Q6600 (2.4ghz think, quad core). It boils down to the fact that currently few games make use of quad core processing, and as such the higher clockspeed of the Duo wi...

Well the arguments stand that gaming is different from other media's in that people are more engaged in it; in movies, they watch someone pull the trigger, in games they do it themselves. That is not to say, however, that movies and games are dissimilar, but gaming does provide an extra edge. Indeed...

Violent Computer Games

This is a thread for discussing the nature of violent computer games. Do violent games encourage aggressive behavior in reality? Or do they help in relieving stress? In addition I'm conducting a one minute survey on this issue, and would appreciate it if any could take it. http://www.questionpro.com...
